Looks like we had 2 in the 2020 class decommit. yes, we are a long ways out on this class... just found it interesting.

Alex Adams (3* WR) & Lideatrick Griffin (4* Ath)

Tough day. I guess Adams is all in on UPig assuming LSU doesn't offer. That's a long way from home for that kid.

It is unacceptable to lose Mississippi kids, that we want, to Arkansas. Further, why can't we get high school wide receivers to sign? I guess we should just go 100% JUCO, or try to sign the small town quarterbacks who were the best athlete, and turn them into wide receivers.

I understand losing a receiver recruit to Ole Miss or what not, but Arkansas? No way man.

That Tyson and Walmart money is coming through for Chad Morris.

Recruiting is never this cut and dried. There are a million reasons why a kid might want to go to an out-of-state school.

Not saying he is the greatest coach in the country or better than Moorhead, but what we may learn here is that Chad Morris is a pretty good coach.

We are a long ways out, but I believe that these were the top 2 composite kids that we had committed for next year. They were at least 2 of the top 5, and a position of critical need as well

I've already seen the comments about how we might see Griffin re-commit, and no one should be concerned since we're so far from signing day, but this is alarming. In a year when the state of MS has much less top tier talent than what we saw last season, Joe cannot afford to be losing guys like this.

I agree this is concerning, and I don't even really follow recruiting. The recruiting game has changed, and these days you need to have your class pretty much lined up before the season starts. I don't know any details so I'm not going to speculate on reasons. I just don't agree with people saying it is too early to worry about it.

The Arkansas staff at Clemson/SMU honestly has even more of a track record with putting WRs into the league than Ole Miss' staff does though. Just were left with a heap of crap at QB last year.

Every SEC school struggles with decommits. Unfortunately, many posters on this board have tunnel vision and inferiority complex compared to other SEC programs. Here are the decommits from the upper echelon of the SEC for the 2020 cycle.

Bama 2
Barners 4
Georgia 1
LSU 5
Florida 4

Most are 4/5 stars.

We are doomed to mediocrity with no hope of recovery. **********

Georgia is left with 8 4-stars or better
LSU is left with 12 4-stars or better
Florida is left with 6 4-stars or better
We are left with 0 4-stars or better

It's a little bigger deal for us

It is a bigger deal for us just because we have a smaller margin for error. But those decommits at other schools show that it happens everywhere and the fact that we have them doesn't mean anything is wrong with our program, our coaches or our recruiting efforts.

Perception is reality and our reality is we are a developmental program who’s results are derived from under the radar athletes, along with the occasional 4 and rare 5. Having a decommit from a low 4 star is not a bigger deal and the probabilities are high he recommits. Have we not had many of our top recruits do the same the last few years? If our offensive output sees dramatic progress, the highly skilled position recruiting will improve. Coaches are using last season against us. The point of my previous post is we have decommits that are our star average vs the elites average ranking. I’m Captain Obvious.

I’ve always thought commitments from high school kids almost a year from signing day was ridiculous..it’s stupid
