97 mph fastball has high draft pick written all over it. You can teach technique and control. You can’t teach potential triple digits.

I watched him pitch in the 1A playoffs last weekend. Really raw but great velocity with decent command. Needs to work on a better breaking pitch but looks like he could be really good. I watched Woodruff pitch multiple times at the same level and he really reminds me of him. Good frames. And the only reason Johnson and Woodruffs stuff wasn't more refined is in 1A there's no need. When he pitched against Pine Grove there were at least 16 pro scouts there. Glad to know he's a dawg!

What I have heard is that he jut showed up on the radar. 97 might be draft worthy but I think there might be a good chance he makes it to MSU. Family is a big fan I've heard and there is something to be said now of getting in a good college program, learning and growing yourself into a better paycheck if you have that kind of arm.

Ginn is a proven commodity. He will get drafted no matter what after next year. A lot of these others guys may only get one shot. I say take the money, honestly, if you are on the fence.

I can't remember where I read it but there was a study done that said his make it to the majors faster when they go to college versus going out of high school and into the farm system. I also believe it said the guys who go to college on average got a bigger contract. So I would prefer 2 years in college and 2 years in farm system versus 6 years in farm system.

If you are good enough to be projected as a high draft pick, I say get an insurance policy that sets you up for most, if not all of what you are projected to get...then play college ball. Once-in-a-lifetime experience, and last chance to play mostly for fun.
