Man, I am really gonna miss Jake Mangum next year. Will go down as arguably the best player based on performance to ever come through State. Dude hates Ole Miss more than any baseball player I've seen.

I believe the feeling is mutual. Would love to see him get at least 2 more wins on his farewell tour through oxford!

The hate is odd due to his family ties there. I wonder if he’s always hated them or if it’s become a result of their fanbase’s treatment of him since going to MSU.

I'm sure I've forgotten but I don't recall Jake expressing any particular dislike of the loansharks other than his performance on the field which he goes after everybody with the same vigor. I only say that because he does have family ties to the confederates.

If my quick math is correct - Jake is 22-54 for his career in 13 games vs. Ole Miss hitting .407 which is 46 points higher than his career .361 career batting average @ MSU

There was some pretty bad stuff that occured when Tunsil did his thing with

Ole Miss's twitter and social media brigade accusing Jake's dad of being involved in some way. It got so ugly that Mangum threatened to sue
them if they didn't cut it out. The dad is not a fan of Ole Miss.

When Jake was a freshman a poster here said that by the time Mangum graduated that OM fans were going to hate him and an OM fan basically said that was ridiculous. Wish I could remember who it was.

His uncle is Kris Mangum. Played TE at Mississippi after transferring from Alabama.
