Plus he's having to pitch on Thursday night whereas normally he would have until Friday.

59 in first 5, 34 pitches in the 6th!

The only questionable pitch called a ball to me was ball 4 to the lead off guy. He threw an 0-2 mistake to the Freshman, the sac bunt got them over, then he put an 0-1 right down the middle. And it was on.

Small pitched well. He did his job. Our bullpen wouldn't have done any better in that situation and our aggressiveness at the plate allowed their starter some easy innings later whereas they started taking pitches we swung at nearly everything. It has worked most of year but our bats did not help out much.

He's pitching on 5 days rest. That's more than enough. He just had a bad inning. It happens.

He looked done 2 pitches into that inning.

He badly missed high, badly missed low, then threw it right over the plate for a big hit. Repeat. Repeat.
