Just kidding, he’s not that goodWhere is he going?
I don’t blame Lamar and I wouldn’t blame him if he never set foot in Starkville again.
Bottom line is that we will be a worse basketball team without him next year than we would be with him.
As a fan base we have the basketball IQ of a mannequin with a head injury.

i would argue a large portion of our basketball team has a worse basketball IQ than a lot of the fans do. Some of the things this team does shows that they have very little awareness of where they are on the court and what is going on in the game.

If he goes, I wish him the best. He had some great moments for us along the way.
If he stays, I hope he works on his dribble drive, passing and patience.
Either way, I just want him to make a decision and stick with it so Howland can concentrate on what he will need to do to fill hi spot for the short or long term. Find a transfer or someone we can redshirt.
OK genius, please try to explain the lamebrain decisions made by our senior "leaders" last Friday night when up by 10 against a dangerous 3 point shooting team. I mean, you're the basketball guy right.Exhibit A
At least he won't be subjected to an empty Hump anymoreI hear Vladivostok is lovely this time of year.

Seems we had this same conversation after every year of Stands BallWe might be worse without him. After all, Howland is still the coach. However, we were never going to get any better with him. He was never going to elevate us beyond what we were this year. The relationship has run its course, and it's time for both parties to move on.
Care to explain? I never see much substance in these posts preaching about how how dumb the fan base is.
I had hoped Lamar would come back next season with his mind right and become the player we all know he has the talent to be. That being said, if he does leave then I hope we can find a more even keeled, consistent point guard in the mold of a Zimmerman or even a Jazzmun Holmes type. This team badly needed some on court leadership to get on their asses for not going all out all the time.
Wait, you mean the 3 possessions in a row after getting up by 10 on Liberty where we jacked threes with 20 seconds left on the shot clock without ever getting the ball inside the 3 point line wasn't smart?**i would argue a large portion of our basketball team has a worse basketball IQ than a lot of the fans do. If Nick comes back we will be alright
https://247sports.com/Season/2019-B...ings/?InstitutionGroup=HighSchool&Position=PGwe can easily replace the production with another solid 4 star pickup like Howland has been getting.

New social media post saying him and Starkville are done on his Instagram
exactly.
In my opinion, Too many people want to jump out and point at our "****** fans", but they're too blinded by Lamar's "hot sauce" dribbling to see that he was all flash and little substance. When his poor shot selection of step back threes early in the shot clock were falling, sure he helped us....problem is that wasn't often. We need a leader at PG, a good decision maker, a floor general....not an emotional low b-ball IQ guy. I like Lamar, and when he was hot he was fun to watch. But we needed more even keeled consistency at PG, and less flashy, inconsistent, streakiness. He was great at getting by his man, but would almost always turn it over or not finish. And your Junior PG should be getting on people's asses for jacking up low percentage 3's early in the shot clock, not leading your team in them.
Again, I have nothing personal against him, and wish him the best, but for the life of me I can't understand why everybody acts like he is the second coming of Allen Iverson and that it's going to kill us to lose him. We'll miss the experience and ball handling, but we can easily replace the production with another solid 4 star pickup like Howland has been getting. Losing Q is worth worrying over, losing Lamar is "well I hate that, but looking forward to seeing who takes over at PG".
