Well neither team plays defense so they would be a nattyral fit for the BIG 12. I doubt they would want Ole Miss though

I look for a lot of grammatical errors with opinions like this but the guy looks formally educated. This goes to show you education doesn't equal intelligence. I can't fathom any of the 14 schools ever leaving the SEC on their own.

Love it. Great idea... Except LSU isn't going anywhere.

LSU is a "have" in the SEC, moron. You are not. Of course you would want to move.

Never lose that Ole Miss confidence, though.

LSU would definitely have something to offer another P5 conference. Ole Miss doesn’t. The only route for OM to leave the SEC wouldn’t be lateral. It would be AAC, CUSA or the Fun Belt. They could be another of UCF’s yearly bitches.

Wait. Why does their “rivalry” need reviving? I thought LSU was their real rival.

First it was take a year or two off from playing us now it's leave the conference completely. What a bunch of limp wristed, sackless chicken *****. Buy hey, if they feel like the SEC is holding them back they need to move on to bigger and better things.

3 things I find funny about this

1. While OM fans believe this would be a gut punch to the SEC, the conference would in fact help them pack their bags and pay for the movers
2. OM fans believe that the Big 12 or any other Power 5 conference would actively pursue OM
3. OM fans believe that LSU would do anything other than spit out their beer while laughing at this proposal

and when they saw that UT and the Longhorny Network takes 75% of the Big 12 revenues, they'd be bitching about that, too. So yeah, go ahead and run from the rivalry that's about to leave you in the dust, UM. It's probably best

Ole Miss doesn't offer much, but I'm thinking the Big 12 would still maybe take them?

UT and Oklahoma are the only real desirable teams in the conference as far as TV money. I guess Oklahoma state would also be desirable? The only question would be whether getting back to 12 teams is desirable enough that UT and OU would be enough to offset any dilution from adding Ole Miss.

What in the actual hell do they think they have to offer the Big 12 that would make those members want them? I can guess their answers would be those mythical "championships" that supposedly happened 50 years or more ago. Otherwise, nobody wants to hang around with a bunch of pretentious pricks. You bring them up to any other school and the conversation ALWAYS turns to bashing them, right away. NOBODY likes those pricks.

You mean the SEC wouldn't scramble to keep a school in a small market that is also unwilling to release their past racist heritage/traditions?***

I'll help you pack

If ever two fanbases deserved to be in the same conference, it's Ole Miss' and Texas'.

I don’t think hunk the Big12 or any other P5 conference would want any part of a school that has 4 programs on probation with a history of racial tension and academic fraud. Add to that they are in Mississippi, which won’t bring in a lot of viewership, and the fact that they have had 4 mascots in the last 10 years, their athletic booster .org just ran their chancellor off and they refuse to identify as anything other than a party school that lives in the past.

Damn. You guys have finally broken them. First, it’s “the rivalry needs to take a year or two off” and now it has escalated into leaving the SEC for the Big 12. This is simply delicious. Keep doing God’s work, MSU.

LSU aint going anywhere. And a funny thing is that we could lose Ole Miss to the B12 and add Memphis and it would be a huge upgrade!

You ask this about a school that just changed their mascot to the “landshark”.

If the SEC was corrupt they would have insured an LSU win against A&M. A&M was bowling regardless, and having lost that game wouldn't have mattered for bowl seeding purposes. LSU @ 10-2 is guaranteed a NY6 slot and makes Bama look a lot better for having shut them out. This, much like the rest of the post, makes no sense to me.

Possibly. But they have KSU and Kansas, both of whom are in a state with the population the size of Mississippi. They have Baylor and TCU, which while they are in a good market, both of which are private schools with about half the enrollment of Ole Miss. They have West Virginia, which has less than 2/3's the people of MS, although they are at least the only game in town for their state. They might pass right now, but I suspect when they were wondering if they would even continue to have a conference, they would have jumped at the opportunity to add Ole Miss. They wouldn't jump right now, and I'm sure Ole Miss would be wayyyy down the list of schools they would want and the least desirable SECW school, but the Big12 just doesn't have a great conference and Ole Miss would be similar to most of the schools in the conference.

Someone probably said this already but Ole Miss leaving the SEC for the Big12 would be an improvement for both conferences.

hahaha It's pitiful how we're only their real rivals to them when they win.
These are the same people who claim that they are the flagship university in Mississippi because they are the University OF Mississippi, but they would also agree that Louisiana STATE University is the flagship univeristy of Louisiana..
