He had 18 yards against us last year on 7 carries. “I’m gonna run on any team” is a pretty bold statement right before you play the best, deepest DL in college football. He’s a good player, but I’m not sure that’s gonna work out like he thinks.

Rule # 1 if you are going to pull off an upset: don't insult or put the opposition on notice.

#heBelieves Now they just need to sneak down to Starkville and put a T-shirt on the bully statue before the game. It will work like a charm!

Welll, it's true that he will run on any team they play if he's in the game. That doesn't mean he'll get a lot of yards running..he may get minus yards

Imma b totally honest here....Kansas st rolled out several runs that had me concerned...like 6,7,8 yard runs that had me thinking where the 17 is the nations top 5 front 7???

im honestly not sure our most talented front 4 are starting. Chauncey has a scrong argument at being a starter. Every time I see him, he is ripping new *******.

K-State ran for 113 yards on 35 carries. And they're a good P5 team that likes to run the ball. I think we did OK there.

Benny Snell is good and talks a lot. He's very good. I noticed his words were pretty careful and respectful however. Most polarizing thing he said, if you could even call it that, is he would run on an NFL defense.

But as someone else said, RIP Benny Snell.

KSU's RB Barnes trucked McLaurin a few times. McLaurin has been going low too early and RBs making him pay for it. Clearly opposing coaches caught this on film.

Having said that we completely shut down KSU overall. They had a few nice runs early, then we dominated. Don't forget about the other 90% of that game, Shamoan.

I think sometimes we heard, "one of the best defensive lines in the nation" and think that no one should ever get a single yard on them. Come on now, every team moves the ball some. Good scheme, perfect blocks, proper execution... you can't stop anyone 100% of the time. Holding to people around 3 ypc and keeping them out of the endzone is what we want. The occasional TFL and sack destroy drives and a teams confidence. I worry a lot of people are expecting these guys to be super human! Also keep in mind we have been rotating a LOT, it's a long season and we don't want to wear these guys out on SFA and LaLa.

I think McLaurin is trying to keep from getting a targeting penalty. The rules are so inconsistently applied, it has caused players to be tentative when they approach a running back. That's why McLaurin is losing leverage.

I posted this on the rant but I will say it here too. This sets up like last year’s State UGA game. Except this year we are UGA and Kentucky is State.

I agree with this, and I think that at least a couple teams are going to try to attack us with a hurry up offense this year. Our D line may be deep and talented, but those guys aren’t built to go full speed every play

Didnt realize Peters was getting that type of buzz because I haven't seen it on the field. Hate he's hurt though.

Jesus, every play doesn’t get stopped for negative yardage...do we not lead the country in TFLs? Get a grip.

Nobody is built to go full speed every play, it’s why the HUNH was invented.

I typically don't care much for the trash talk beforehand. That being said, I'm kind of glad that K. Hill responded to it. In many ways, he's the chip on the shoulder that this team needs. Obviously, this is a very talented team, but this is also as confident a team as I can remember us having in recent history. Yes, when Dak was here there was a confidence in him and our offense. I just see a confidence in every aspect of our team this year too.

Should your first sentence have some asterisks behind it?

The strength of our defense is as much depth as it is talent.

We are going to give up some plays early in every game when the opponent’s OLine is fresh and the plays are scripted and neither team has adjusted to the other.

Where our defense makes it’s hay is when an opposing OL has had Simmons, Sweat, Green and Hoyett leaning and punching and pushing on them for 20 minutes then they look up and see Chauncey Rivers and Kobe Jones and Cory Thomas standing there wearing a smile and a clean jersey and fresh legs. After they’ve dealt with that they get to face a well-rested Marquis Spencer and Tre Brown and Fletcher Adams until it’s time to see Simmons and company again.

If you watch you’ll see the cumulative effect of all that depth in the 3rd and 4th quarter all year long.

Looking good in first quarter doesn’t matter nearly as much as it does in the 4th.

Is it me, or are we doing a LOT more stunts on the DL?

After Tenn, Shoops has to be thinking, "Thank you sweet baby Jesus".

It's unusual for an almost completely new staff to come into a situation with this much talent.

He’s a kid in a candy store.

I don’t think any team has ever been held to zero yards in a game so we need to not freak out when the other team has a little success.

Ole Miss was completely dominated by Bama and even put up 250 yards of offense.

Barnes had 17 rushes for 75 yards....4.4 ypc. that is concerning. i still like our defense, but as usual, innocent comments get totally blown out of proportion.

250 yards of offense was a good day for us in the Croom era.***
