Anyone heard anything about the severity of westberg's leg. It looked like a hamstring. The kid was playing a solid 3B and like the rest of the freshman, his bat was coming around.

Hamstring

Henderson confirmed it as a hamstring injury in his post game today and said he would be out for a while. Don't expect him to play in Hoover. Those type of injuries can be awful if you rush back.

He was playing solid baseball and he has a ton of potential. He has size and he can fly on the bases. He will be fun to watch these next two years.

I wouldn’t mind shutting westberg down for the rest of the season if he’s not back soon. That way he can presumably be 100% for summer ball and get more ABs without setbacks, which is what he really needs. Foscue can hold down the fort until then.

We’ve got quite a few potential stars in this freshman class. We see Allen, Rowdey Jordan, and Foscue play every day, but the other three (Westberg, Hatcher, and Anderson) might have the higher upsides.

I hate he got injured because he was seeing the ball well at the plate. He is very aggressive and attacks early in counts. He had been squaring them up lately.

I would not be shocked if he is done for the year. Those hamstring injuries can nag at you for a while if they don't heal properly initially.

Foscue should have been the 3B all along, with Westburg DH against LHP

Westburg is going to be the SS eventually so this is not catastrophic for us right now, but Henderson is retarded for keeping Foscue in the bench

I think you are correct on the upsides
