I thought they cut down those pines. They must have left one & your climber stand is really high. How's the wind up there?**

Do they have a play area for kids, haven't heard anyone mention that, but thought there was going to be an area where the little ones can play.

I saw some playing behind the back row of the lounge in right field around the scoreboard area.

New stadium is great. You can see the field from just about anywhere. Lighting might look bad on TV but in the stadium itself the lighting is solid. Well worth the visit even in its unfinished state.

I went and noticed the lights are pointed straight down instead of pointed at the center of the field. Standing at the fence you could look at any light tower and the light was not directly in your eyes. It was almost as if indirect light was lighting the field. I wish I would have noticed the players shadows to see if they had the normal four cross shadows. There was plenty of light but it was definitely different. I remarked to someone that it would be great for the players because it would be almost impossible to lose a fly ball in the lights.

The lights are LED setups similar to these.

These are really cool. The shrouds help keep direct light out of your eyes while doing a much better job of illumination. Also, close to 80% more efficient that conventional HID setups.

Looks great. So other than the lofts, what is left to finish for next season? The upper level seating area seems to just lack chairbacks. I suppose there will be boxes at the very top.

They do not. The original renderings showed a kids area down the left field line, but that was removed in later renderings and not included in the construction. As some one with a little one who has zero interest in watching a game, that was highly disappointing.

The underneath area is still bare, no concession stands, no bathrooms, and no dressing rooms yet. There is still a lot of work to do. I would say that from first base , around the outfield to third base is 95% complete. The grandstands aren't much over 50% complete.

I think we need to toss a few Sylvania 100w's up there just for good measure.
