What’s the total on transfers so far? From what I remember, Patterson and Jefferson will be the only big losses.
Depth matters. Not to mention most of the transfers are second year players, and only fools judge from from their career thus far to that point. By that logic Nick Fitzgerald was not a big loss had he transferred after 2015.
Their transfers will be more impactful in 2019 and beyond. I’d love to see them lose another of their upperclassmen, but that seems unlikely.
I think that’s wishful thinking on your part. The NCAA didn’t do **** and they didn’t scare anyone enough to transfer. Those cocksuckers won’t miss a beat. Everyone that is saying these few transfers are going to hurt them are saying it because they were pissed by the NCAA ruling and it’s the only hope they have for punishment.
Patterson, Anderson, Nixon, Jefferson, Julius, Defoor. 4 guys from the class of 2016 and 2 from 2015. They will be impacted in 2018 and 2019 at most due to this. These guys are a big hit to them, magnified now that Speaks is leaving.
Their 2017 was wrecked from the beginning. Nobody transferred out of that class, they were all scrubs who knew probation was coming and just wanted play D1 football.
Their 2018 class is a patchwork of guys with issues.
They lost the one head coach who has unified them like never before, and now they have a glorified offensive line coach.
I would say their program has suffered.
Most of this was directed towards Uncle Ruckus, I just did not want to post twice. 57Stratdawg is correct in that their program will be impacted going forward, not by transfers, but by bad players to put it simply.

That is a massive amount. While some of our woolier fans probably expected half the team to transfer, they can take solace in that actually did happen.
I am still thrilled Hugh Freeze is not walking their sideline and recruiting for them. I still cannot understand how it unraveled so quickly.
Give me a break. That was the most insignificant egg bowl I can remember in my lifetime.

As far as the egg bowl, look at the positive. Which team do you think will be more motivated this time around? That is especially good seeing how that would be a perfect trap game for is if we go in there 9-2 or 10-1 with much on the line.
Insignificant my ***. Cost us a chance to go to Citrus Bowl and win 10 games. It would have also signaled us stomping on their 17ing throats while they are “down” and taking control of this State but nope we had to 17ing go full Mississippi State and **** all over ourselves at home. Insignificant Egg Bowls were that ******** from 2004-2006.
I would imagine that they are going to have at least 2-3 possibly declare for the NFL draft after next season. That's going to hurt them long term as well.
It is. Again, I’ve only seen mention of 3-4 actually announcing their transfers. Maybe 5. Crippling I tell you. Crippling. Mullen did this to us every year at signing day by having 20 guys enroll in August.

Patterson and Jefferson are obviously hits, as each was in the two deep at their position for next season. The others except DeFoor and Dixon were likely never going to be major contributors (further evidenced by the places they transferred). DeFoor was not a highly ranked recruit, but the thought was that he would have a shot at starting at G in 2019. Dixon was pretty highly ranked and is a good athlete but stayed in the doghouse due to off-the-field issues during his time in Oxford (FYI: Denzel Nkemdiche is allegedly his mentor). Hopefully he will get his head on straight wherever he ends up because he can be good if he stays out of trouble.

One has to wonder exactly what was actually discovered in those phone calls made on HF's phone. I'm going to believe there was more damaging information that could destroy the university. But, I then go back and see that OM is appealing the NCAA ruling. So, that tells me that excuse I'm thinking happened, must not be the case. If it was worse, why would OM take the risk of anything more damaging coming out? Freeze's phone call is a puzzler from my seat for sure. If it wasn't as bad as some may have thought over 1 phone call, I believe OM would have sided with Freeze and rode out the storm. Mid season all of this would have been forgotten.
Both are insignificant in the modern day college football game. The only thing that truly resonates (outside a conference or national title) is winning a Big 6 bowl.
That has never happened and will never happen until they get the death penalty.
I am fairly happy we the way it turned out. We got a ton of publicity for shutting down Lamar Jackson.

Coaches, players, and fans have to hear about that egg bowl loss all year. Coaches in particular have to hear about it in recruiting all year. There is no such thing as an insignificant loss in college football, especially to a rival school.
While I agree with this and still cringe when I think about this year's egg bowl (as I'm sure our players do), I think what these guys are saying is this will have our guys EXTREMELY motivated for the 2018 egg bowl, and that one could turn out to have a lot more on the line for us than this year. If next year turns out the way we think it could, I will take the 2018 egg over the 2017 egg.
By talent starZ, the are losing their #2, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, 18, 20, 22, 27, 29 players either to transfer or graduation. They are currently bringing in 2 guys in that range. #4 will be a senior and they have an above average chance to lose #1, 3, 5, 11 early to the NFL draft after next season. That roster is destroyed.

Yup. I wouldn't be surprised at all if at least two or three who claimed they were staying before the break had second thoughts after being away from the cult and its influence for a few weeks.

out of HS, but if he couldn't get in the two deep on our defense this past season, I'm thinking he's likely a bust.

I’m no SEC coach, but I’m pretty sure it’s hard to get on the two deep when you voluntarily redshirt.
Yes. My opinion, anyways. The loss certainly sucked and robbed us, but long term, we could be better off.
