I think he actually was struggling with his decision right up until the end because his buddy put on that Kansas shirt right before he got up there. I hope he settles in on his decision.

We criticize these young men about their decision but it is theirs. I bet there's a lot more signing today across the country that are apprehensive before, during and even after signing. A life decision for THEM. Purely entertainment for US. We don't need to get so emotionally attached to recruiting.

Maybe he didn't flip. Looking like Moorhead had backed off him. Let's trust the coaches until they give a reason not to.

Backed off the #6 player in the state? That’s doubtful. If we backed off him, he would have decommited several weeks ago. This was orchestrated. That still doesn’t mean any of our coaches were to blame. I think we all know what happened. The ultimate goal was for them to get to Williams to try and sway Heath. It didn’t work, but Williams isn’t a terrible consolation prize for them.

With Williams flipping maybe we can offer Harris???

It’s hard to imagine that we don’t have a spot for Harris regardless of the Williams flip. We already lost the other CB to Arkansas. I really hope he didn’t pick Kansas over an offer from us.

VERY emotional. I'm glad we got this guy to commit over Kansas.

I cannot imagine signing with KS if any SEC team was recruiting me, including OM. KS has been in football hell for almost a decade after firing the fat man. Their games might be the most boring thing to do in the entire Midwest.

Yes, backed off the #6, or whatever arbitrary ranking he is. For the last three weeks I've seen pics of Moorhead barnstorming the state and visiting recruits, and I haven't seen a peep about this kid.

Williams is more of a depth piece in need of development than an early contributor anyway.

Very well said.

The MSU FB Twitter tweeted the welcome which I can't imagine they would do had his letter not come through. Probably just ESPN being ESPN.

I'm not even sure why there was any competition with Kansas. Why would anybody from New Orleans sign with a team that has won 3 games in the past 3 years. They are literally THE WORST Division-1 Power 5 team in the past decade.

Wasn't Fabian Franklin the #1 kid in the state for most of his recruitment too? The same kid we told to look around and backed off?

He picked Kansas over offers from supposedly us, LSU, Arkansas, Auburn, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, TAMU, and others. I think the most likely reasoning here is that he wasn't the player his rating made him out to be. Hard to believe none of those schools had room for a legit 4-star DB.
