“David Johnson” posted on Ole Miss board that Shea Patterson's father told him directly that Shea had an MRI last night after the game. According to “David Johnson”, Mr. Patterson said that the MRI showed that Shea suffered a torn Posterior Cruciate Ligament in his right knee. He said the injury is season-ending.

It really is a bad deal for him. He was getting killed during those games. It was just a matter of time.

I have been a tough critic of Shea but he

Earned my respect last night, he does have
Moxy and I love that trait.

No. 1 QB recruit in the nation didn't play a full season in his career in Oxford.

I hate to hear that his season is over. Never like to see a kid end his career like that. Yes, I know he will be back after treatment and rehab, but probably not as a land shart.

Looking at his face when he came out of the tent I bet the training staff had it pegged pretty much immediately.

That sucks. Hope the new guy doesn’t turn out to be a RAT.

Doubt it seriously. Besides the obvious mental deal with losing the great Shea, OM hasn’t let the other kid on the field up until they had to for a reason. OM beats ull and that’s it

Easy now. Haven't you heard? Those in the know are evidently "cautiously optimistic".
Ha.
If they don’t get a 2nd year bowl ban, I’ll join the Rebel Club, buy season tickets in the new metal bleachers, and buy them their next Starkville High wideout.

Seriously? This is Shea shutting it down. Told the coaches he wasn't going to risk his future playing another down for this team. He'll magically be all recovered when he tries out for another team.

Nothing to crow about, but I thought it was very likely something like this happened. To his line's credit, I thought they got better at protecting him, but without a run game they are too predictable, and it opened him up as a fairly easy target.

I feel terrible for him- he is a very good QB, and I really respected that he stayed, but I didn't think it was smart for him. His would have been a case where I would have totally understood bailing out. Hard choice to make.

He needs to transfer and redshirt somewhere a year to recover from the train wreck at UM. He's got a ton of potential and it's being wasted. Now he's got a couple of months to figure out what he's going to do next.

It will be just as interesting to see who goes with him. My guess is anybody worth a damn.

I will say again that the ncaa is going to allow free transfers. If ever there was a case that called for it, it was this one. The student athletes have a very strong case that they were misled and should not have to suffer. Otherwise the ncaa will get a million exemption requests.

Because of the 2 year bowl ban, he won’t have to sit out a year.

Just when and how did he get hurt? I saw him throw a long ball then start limping....don't tell me he hurt it passing.

I understand that. But being a QB, I think it'd be best for him to have a year off to regroup and develop instead of being thrown into a new offense for the 3rd straight year and under a 3rd HC and OC.
