The heat check 3 that he airballed was one of the most selfish, poorly timed, hero wannabe shots I’ve seen in a long time.

Expected a Wall type of impact (I’m not saying they are the same type of player) from him when he signed. He was the alpha in the McD’s game when he took over and got MVP. Other elite recruits deferred to him. Supposed to be a legit dawg.

Disappointed.

I actually laughed when he took that shot. Good kid, average player, not great offensively AT all. Missed some drives also.

He's the least of our problems; he didn't play that much and others that aren't any better played way too many minutes. Then there's the coaching...

You can't go by what you see in a McD's all star game, they don't play defense in those games.

It wasn’t that. I merely cited that as an example of how much the other guys acted towards him. He was the star among them and they deferred to him. I expected an alpha dog leader. The charisma to rally them. The big stage. All that ****. That was my point.

He also went really hard to come back and win that game. He looked like a ''dog''.

Reed did the exact same thing in the second half with us up by three when we were scoring at will. He had passed up 4 or 5 wide open threes up to that point and attempted a bomb with a guy on him with 21 seconds on the shot clock.

its indicative of Freshmen who were stars coming into the program.

anytime the game starts getting away from them, one of them will inevitably try to play hero ball.

Wagner, Dilly, Bradshaw, Edwards - even Shep

Its particularly bad when we close the gap to 3 or 4, or the opposing team takes the lead by 3.

this is just one of the many issues UK teams have with talented freshmen who have little experience facing adversity

Focus on the topic at hand. Do you disagree with what I said about that poorly timed heat check from Wagner today?
no one disagrees with ya .. why does Cal allow a kid that shoots that poorly from outside to continue to jack it up from there....? Why not play to a kids strengths? It's evidently not taught because we have kids every year who do it. For example, if we can't defend the pick and roll, why not try a zone. Why not adapt?.... Sorry to go on a rant!

^^ That should be true thru Nov, Dec , maybe even JAN , but we are near 25 games in , and the team is clearly digressing . It's sad , In Feb they now have experience , and plenty of adversity .. with good leadership and coaching they get better ... our team . ha ha , we got a Benny leading us .

Rant away , its time for it .. How nice would it be to have the 2 possessions back where DJ and Aaron Bradshaw threw up threes ?? I told everyone that the 3 AB made at the end of the Florida was a terrible shot , many dogged me for it .. dude hasnt made 1 single 3 since .. but here's the big point .. he NEVER .. NEVER should be allowed to shot threes . NEVER .
