He just had a bad game - he is a important piece - I think he shoots to much and does not seem to be the point forward he used to be
Still had 13 rebounds
Like to see him get some rest - hopefully Edwards can improve

I don't think he came out in the first half. I know he didn't in the 2nd half or in OT.
I don't care who you are you can't play 45 minutes and play effective or have any legs left.
This is what I think contributed to how he played today. He is having to play every minute because Justin has been so mediocre, Aduo being injured and Bradshaw fouling so much.

Mitchell needs some rest. I guess Cal doesn't believe in the "Load Adjustment" that is used in the NBA and apparently at Frederick Douglas High School.

He’s now just under 34% from 3. Over the last ten games he’s 12/39 from deep.

He’s playing too many minutes (and that was the case before Adou got hurt) and Cal is using him as though he were a star player, which he’s just not and never has been throughout his career.

I like the kids game, but he's way too loose with the ball, and he makes sloppy decisions with the game on the line. That stupid outlet pass when we were down 2, I believe. Intercepted. A&m comes back and hits a 3. So we go from being able to tie the game to down 5. It's just clown **** like that in crunch time that will not allow you to win a tough road game.

Well we are asking him to play 40+ minutes every game. With all we did wrong if Adou plays we win this game. We need Adou back and healthy for this team to make a run. Honestly we are better off with Burks for 4-6 minutes a game so Tre isn't deadass tired at the end of games. That probably has a lot to do with his ineffectiveness at the end of games.

Wouldn't hurt.

he was worn out..... we have played him ragged the last 3 games... the kid is tough but.. oh well.. not a robot..
I won’t dispute that fatigue could play a part. I’ll have to see him fresh down the stretch sometime and see what that looks like.

We won’t do it, but if Thiero doesn’t get back soon we should think about playing Reeves/Reed/Rob/DJ around a big (Onyenso or Bradshaw) for stretches. Pressure, trap, run, shoot threes.

Again, I know Cal won’t do it, but I’m pretty comfortable feeling that is a plus lineup in 3-4 minute bursts.

Cal is absolutely glued to having 2 bigs in at once. I could see it if we were actually good at defense. I don't think it's possible for the defense to get worse at this point. Going with 4 guards and a big in spots should have already been a thing. You can't expect Tre to play 40 mpg, which I wasn't even aware he was doing.

He sucked really really bad today. I get having an off night shooting, but to be so putrid in literally every other category as a senior player is inexcusable.

Definitely. Again, we are already getting killed on the boards and run through on D. How bout scramble things up, generate some steals, and hit even more threes?

Cal is convinced that we will get there defensively by March. He’s stubborn that way. Maybe he’s right. Or maybe Lucy pulls the football once again.

Edit to add: you can also go with Edwards at the 4. Need to lock him in a room watching Thiero tape. Or better yet, MKG.

Who are you putting in over him? We playing Burks and Bradshaw?

I might have agreed with this a few weeks ago, but Adou is still hurt, Bradshaw is showing to be raw, Edwards is just not ready.. who else is playing in the front court?

And clearly the answer isn't DJ and Dilly with Reeves and Shep. DJ and Dilly are just a little too selfish at this point for that to work. Shep would never get a shot.

I don’t agree with this at all! Reeves is the guy who rarely passes. DJ and Rob both are pretty balanced about getting their shots/setting up teammates. Both with decent assist/turnover metrics.

Completely unacceptable from the veteran whom the other players call “grandpa.”

I sort of like his game. Good passer for sure. But he doesn’t shoot well enough from deep to take as many shots as he does - and with each game the numbers reflect that.

His defense was again awful today too.

Well Reeves isn't really supposed to pass, at least not like a PG should. Not to say he shouldn't look to pass more, but that's not his role. His role is offense. And I also think he's got PTSD from last years team where we had NO ONE who could score consistently.

DJ and Rob both just strike me as more of combo guards in their game. And that's fine. But we really could use one of them to emerge as an elite play maker to open up the rest of the team. Or maybe we just need to settle on one of them as the go to guy.

Also, this was NOT the game for Tre to shine in. TAM leads natuon in rebounding which means a lot of big bodies. This was a tall order for Tre today, who also has one center who is struggling (Bradshaw) and another who is JUST starting to emerge (Ugo).

I can't fault Tre at all for today's performance. The odds were stacked against him.

Not one game. Has happened more than once now. And if he’s our “most important” player, it’s only because we’ve lacked depth in the front court. He’s far from our best player.
Just worry about your rankings dude..swing and a miss.

I just disagree…I think having all three of Reed/DJ/Rob on the court works because they are all unselfish and all can make plays for themselves when needed.

Yeah. The definition of irrationally is observing patterns and commenting on them. Witchcraft, basically.
I thought Mitchell looked really tired today, he didn’t have any lift in his jump shot. He is getting beat up down low and it is affecting his game.

DJ and Bob sure made a nice play at the end of regulation lol.

Obviously it's a gaffe, I know they aren't "that" bad. But still. Those two on the court, and you might as well not play Shep because he just won't get the ball. NOT because either of them is a big ball hog, but that it's two guards who need the ball in their hands.

Maybe if one of them wants to be an on-ball defender like Hagans or a pit bull like Briscoe.

He is the weak link on the court. Our defense and rebounding stink because of his effort. Im a proponent of giving Bradshaw some of his min at the 4 until Thiero is back
The site hasn't been updated yet for this game, but evanmaya.com has his Bayesian Performance Rating as 5.59, which puts him at #74 among all D-1 players. Thiero's BPR is 1.03, good for #1387. There's a reason why he's not playing, and I suspect "general soreness" isn't it.

I thought he played terrible today too, but looking at the box score, he had 13 rebounds and 6 assists
