I don’t get it either, he would be the clear starter at 2 or 3 guard position and be a lock for playing time. He will play and probably start at Duke but they have a lot of guards and wings coming in

It all goes back to the issues with Cal and Phil Knight. Nike is driving this train, otherwise Duke would have been one of the last places most of the top players would have picked since 2015.

Duke had one reputation built over years: hold NBA talent back. Then suddenly they’re landing all of the stud OAD’s. That doesn’t happen, this is Nike and outside influence.

Honestly, no. Almost every analyst has says it’s hard to read. Duke appears to have an edge at moment but Baylor isn’t out and either is Kentucky.

Trilly said today that Duke has the edge and so did Jack Pilgrim. I think it's leaning towards Duke. If I'm wrong and VJ goes to UK, I'll give you props.

Well if VJ doesn't go to Kentucky, I'd rather have him at Baylor than Duke. Duke already has an amazing class coming in and don't want to get better. Also, we play them next year.

Whoever gets Edgecombe is getting a modern Corey Maggette. I love the kid's game. I hope we somehow sway him. He could be our primary offensive weapon. If I was the UK staff, I would push that until the kid's ears are bleeding.

Can't go wrong with either option. Peterson and Edgecombe are both future lottery picks and either would be our primary scoring option.

Even if we add either of them, we're going to need more scoring if Sheppard bolts after this year. Get one of Peterson/Edgecombe and then grab a pair of guards/wings from the portal.

I am curious what we are doing there in terms of NIL. So much attention with that has gone to football that I wonder if we are neglecting basketball in that area. That's been relatively secretive / under-reported it seems like.

The days of missing out on a single kid from high school being a huge deal are long gone. Now you can go out and get a proven player in the portal to fill holes (your words). Comparing what I said to us becoming Arkansas next year is a stretch even for somebody like you

That’s not even to get into the fact you cherry picked a couple of instances of bad teams. KU has used the transfer portal greatly over the last few years and they have consistently been the best program in the nation during that time. That’s just one example. So if anybody’s post was blatantly untrue, it would be yours.
