Hansbrough has been at WKU for at least a couple years now, worked with Stans last season, and played for him. Dude was the BigEasy POY, played professionally overseas and in the NBA, and is a bulldog competitor.

This is not true. Ben's mom had nothing to do with his transfer.

Ben simply didn't think he fit in (on the court) with the other guys in the team. While there were times he got frustrated with the Hump having an event going on and him not being able to practice that didn't really have anything to do with him leaving

He told me straight up he was going to spin it that way in hopes we would get a practice facility because he knew how bad we needed one.

He transferred because his dad came down, went fishing with Stans, asked if Ben would be a confirmed starter for next season, Stans said no. That was agreed upon during that visit. Dad said he would transfer and both agreed ND would be a good fit for him to finish out his basketball career. Dad asked if there was anything he could do for Stans, Stans said yes please say he is leaving because he needed more practice time in a better facility. Discussions were occurring during that time with donors (Dampier being one) and that sealed the deal for the practice facility.

Rumor I heard before he even announced he was transferring was Momma Hansbrough was giving out free samples of her special sauce to Dietric Slater and Phil Cunningham (different meal times of course). Momma also got the top fundraiser for UNC fired too because he was using state funds to pay for her expensive sauce.
