Quick poll - who would you little bitches drop to your knobby knees quickest for:

Portnoy or Rogan?

Serious replies only. TIA
- People always talk about LeBron being a teen phenom and how he not only lived up to the hype but exceeded it. Yeah but where’s the love for Anderson Cooper? Did that youngblood from Channel One not do the same?

REM has some good songs. Losing My Religion is not one of them. But I sometimes feel like a little liberal arts college attending whiny ***** (no offense Anth) after listening to them. Shiny Happy People anyone? I mean I like that song but don’t listen to it if you’re about to get your testosterone measured that day.

INXS is the quintessential 80’s band (non-hair metal category). Disappear is awesome.

Have the Reds won a game since the all-star break?

Went to the Post Malone concert in Houston last night. Well, not really, I jogged by this amphitheater and he was playing and you could hear it perfectly. Sat out there on a bench, watched the Braves rally in the 9th to beat the Pirates, and listened to some PM. Was feeling like a Rock Star.

-saw inxs a couple times live in the 80's. Great band. Shabooh Shoobah is their best album...listen like thieves 2nd. Kick is fine...but lacks the energy of the early records, downhill after that. It happens.

-re: r.em. 1981-1988*...incredible band. Their influence on indy/college rock(alternative to the kids) cannot be overstated. 1989 to now...banal, adult contemporary schlock. I would argue that no band has ever "lost their fastball" in such dramatic fashion.

*still listen to this stuff regularly...and it holds up.

-Couldn’t tell you one INXS song and REM sucks too. Soft *** whiny band is exactly what REM is. Remember my buddy trying to fight me when I said Shiny Happy People was “super gay” when I was like 12.

-Fun watching MY Rays kick the Cards *** in the last couple innings last night.

-Always fun to hit the DMV on vacation but gotta have an ID.

-Rogan and Portnoy are not even on the same planet. Portnoy is pushing buttons and getting clicks. Rogan is a legit interviewer. I’ll still get he doesn’t interview trump though and if he does Trump might walk out.

-Always like teasing people when they say “Mark you better be ready. We went to Florida last night week and it was HOT!!!!” Yeah well no **** you went in the summer but it’s flipping hot here this summer, for real for real as the kids say.

Devil Inside is a good song. Suicide Blonde okay. The others are some of their weakest. Elegantly Wasted, really? I'm surprised you didn't list the song they did on that Rock Star INXS show with the new singer.
It was just a list of some of my faves. Not trying to put together a definitive top 5.

REM was one of my favorite bands for years. But rudd is right, circa 1989 they got cynical, sold out and mailed it in the rest of the way. Look no further than Pop Song 89 - they basically told us what they were doing.

At least they were honest about it. Still put on great shows into the 00s, though.

-you know who could play their asses off, plus the ladies loved em:

^I played that song(bass) for an audition for a cover band made up of college kids (when I was 16 or 17). Nailed it...proceeded to sit where I *thought* a stool was, busted my ***. Couple of hot college gals were in attendance...I was obviously mortified. They were awesome about it we had beers...they invited me to a few parties. Good times.

^they ended up choosing an adult...who could legally play in bars, and presumably knew where the stool was.

It may or may not have been a triple with an error, just depends on who's dad was running gamechanger.

For those of you unfamiliar with the Gamechanger app, it is basically a wonderful app that scores baseball games live so people unable to attend can keep up with their kids' ballgames. A couple of years ago a dad on my oldest team ran it. For some reason he really hated my son & would quite literally NOT record any of his homeruns. When he hit a homerun, the dude would basically just turn the app off. It was bizarre to say the least. Anyway, he would've definitely given my son a triple with an error on that play.

We had a Mom running ours this year and it was going great for awhile. Then a grandma, that had been scoring the games by hand, started sitting next her. Lol, we were calling errors on basically every hit. Which, those of you that have witnessed coach pitch, understand basically every hit is an error. Grandma was on it though.

Ah, another fan who attends zero games at Rupp, or anywhere else suggesting we bow out of the Champions & CBS Classics? Yeah, that would be a great look. Definitely count me as PISSED we play Kansas & UNC on a neutral floor in marquee blue blood events!

The '17 Neutral UNC game was the most fun gave I've ever attended. Imagine it was equally as fun on Television. The '21 boat race was pretty nice as well.

Our 23-24 Schedule is unreal:

Oh I’m sorry, didn’t know I wasn’t allowed to ***** and gripe for no reason. ROLL EYES

With few exceptions (old IU/UK games at Louisville and Indy)- home/away games >>> neutral site games. I know that’s a #hot #take but I stand by it.

We used to have 4-5 of them, like other programs STILL DO, until CAL ruined it w/ these ridiculous neutral games!!!!

Tubby and Rick had home & homes with UNC, Duke, Arizona, Kansas, Michigan St, Indiana, Louisville, and UCLA annually. Need to get back to that imo.

*There is a link to the MLB rulebook on the web. You may want to read it.....or just continue to blabber about things you truly have no clue about. Or send me a message about what you want to talk about, and I will write it for you.

*triple w/ an error.

I made that post as the play happened, and immediately *knew* your ***** *** would comment with some condescending ******** about the rules of the game. I mean, you played high school ball at Bryan Station before I was even born, so of course I have so much to learn from you.

Stuart Fairchild (fyi his middle name isn't really "Jamison") hit the ball, and came all the way around to score on that play. I know it wasn't a rulebook home run because I watched the game live, and it was immediately scored a triple with an error. Said the same thing in the box score, too.

But I also watched the postgame coverage, listened to the Chatterbox Reds podcast this morning, and listened to the postgame interviews, and John Sadak, Jim Day, David Bell, Trace Fowler, Stuart "Jamison" Fairchild, Nick Kirby, and Chris Welsh all had a blast laughing at the play, calling it a "Little League Home Run." He should have been out. Fairchild ran thru the stop sign at 3rd, was totally hung up, got lucky when the catcher dropped the ball, then made a heads up slide to score. I'm surprised your grumpy ***** *** didn't complain he was out of the basepath on the slide. It was an incredibly fun, ridiculous play you almost never see in a professional game, but can probably witness every weekend at Ecton Park.

So the real question is, why are you such a stupid, grumpy *****? You literally go out of your way while everyone else is having fun to be as upset and mad and pissed off as possible, which is why, and I'm being 100% serious here, EVERYONE f'ing hates you. Go F yourself all the way.

Remember when Kentucky fans used to pack Freedom Hall? I miss those days.
Would be nice to have a neutral game like Notre Dame, WKU or Bellarmine at Freedom Hall, although the last time we did, we got our a$$es handed to us by ND in 2010.

The last time UK played UL in the Yum Center was in 2018-19 with the Herro/Johnson team, the Yum Center was at least half UK fans and it was glorious hearing Vanetti and Crew complain about “blue getting in” while driving to the game.

Once again... chad starting these conversations.

Chads ilk's obsession with guys like Rogan and Portnoy is hilarious. Before every click bait article I can already guess how many times I'll read, "mansplain, conspiracy theory, toxic masculinity, bro-, alpha" or whatever the latest Hollywood tag line is making the rounds. Mention either of their names and he's on here instantly to let you know how against them he is... a transcendent virtuous. Just ask or read his yard sign.
And I will note that you will defend all “bro” successful people whenever given even the smallest chance to do it

Rogan is insanely successful and though I am not a fan, I totally respect what he has built. I wish he used his forum more responsibly but it’s his forum and he created it so he can do whatever he wants

The Portnoy piece is a little different. He now takes over a website with 5 times the overhead it had before and no corporation to pay expenses. This at a time that web advertising is at an all time low and he can take no gambling ads. That’s a tough combo. The Barstool brand simply didn’t work for gambling. Its audience didn’t move the needle enough. And the brand takes a hit in advertising world because it was sold for $0.

They crush the podcast game and that is likely their future. YouTube should be their next focus and I am sure it will be. But he almost certainly will have to have major layoffs. Making money on web ads simply isn’t what it was even 4-5 years ago. I am sure they will still be successful and he personally rich, but I don’t think this deal is nearly the slam dunk for them as folks act

Matt and wcc seem like the type of dudes that are desperate to paint guys in a corner and totally turn against them the minute their political beliefs fall out of line with a particular narrative.

I mean, imagine voting Democrat, supporting Bernie, being in favor of Medicare for all, promoting government assistance, opposing major corporations, and the minute you say you're not vaccinated you're a looney, right-wing, MAGA-supporting skinhead who promotes conspiracy theories and singlehandedly kills millions of Americans with disinformation.

Just seem like that type to think that.

Lahaina burned by wildfires. I think the famous banyan tree got destroyed, too. Sad. Might mean the Maui tournament might also have to move.

Dave back in charge of Barstool, but he can't start up a competing book, can't advertise for other books (huge revenue loss), and has to split any future sales and dividends of Barstool with Penn.

My oldest brother literally lives in Neptune Beach.

Orioles owner suspended a TV announcer for reading out the chyron stats of how bad the O's HAD been when playing at Tampa versus their current decent record there this year. 2 week suspension. The Angelos family is still a clown family with too much money, much like Daniel Snyder and his ilk.

Todd Tackett around?

White Wayne is Starks, and Finkle is Einhorn. Got it.

Matt Jones with the classic “I’m better than you and know everything” post. A tradition unlike any other and the exact reason why his radio show will eventually tank.

Dude constantly blasts “guy who lets politics dictate every aspect of their life” while being that exact guy for far longer than 99.9% of the population.

That’s just a stupid comment. I haven’t turned on anyone. There was never a moment I like Rogan, whether Fear Factor, early podcast days or now. It has zero to do with his politics. It’s the “bro” faux-intellect thing which I have always hated. That’s a longer conversation than this but it applies across political lines (Bernie had a ton of these people). It’s mostly on the right but my issue with Rogan has zero to do with the vaccine. That is a fight that’s irrelevant to me

I know Portnoy and for the most part, like him. I am talking about a business deal. What has happened however is for some people, a criticism of any action of a person (Trump, Musk, Rogan, Portnoy, etc) no matter how valid, becomes a call to arms. Anth does it for young bro media types. Dorky people do it for Musk. Political obsessives do it for Trump. The left has the same issue but not to the same degree (people on the left will crush Biden).

You may or not be correct about Chad. I don’t know him well enough but I agree with him more than I don’t. But Anth (and PTI to some extent, although less so) feel the need to rush to the defense of all bro success stories to such a degree that you can’t even make the smallest criticism or critique. Then they mock Chad for the same on the other side. I find that ironic

Couch’s story about his Dad was amazing today
