Where would you prefer the dogs piss, Wynn, in your ear?

* Listening to Stoops and the boys talk last week, they seem very confident. It sounds like they are more worried about depth at wide out and corner than they are about the offensive line. The NC State RB transfer is apparently lining up mainly at WR. Coen loved Cummings as a pass catching TE.

On defense, Brad White and Stoops have historically been soothsayers in the secondary. With the transfers we've got there, I'm sure they will figure it out.

* Any UK fan who gripes about Stoops (beside in-game redass), can GTFO. What he's done in 11 years is nothing less than a miracle. Year in and year out we are a competitive SEC team. Our floor is what our ceiling used to be. We are darkhorse candidate to make it to Atlanta this year. That's amazing.

* My dad is having heart bypass surgery today. It was scheduled for Friday but got changed at the last minute and I've got stuff for today that can't be rescheduled at the last minute. I guess it is good to have stuff to preoccupy myself but it is going to be a long *** stressful day and I won't get to see him until tomorrow since he'll go directly to the ICU. Fun times.

Shorts;

- Spent yesterday preparing my new UK den for the season. It’s beautiful. Can’t wait to spend my next 7-8 months there. Have my central TV then if you were to get caught up at the bar, perhaps pouring yourself some of my premium bourbon or grabbing a Miller Lite, well there’s a new TV there on the wall, too.

- Vecenie has Edwards #1 in his early 2024 mock. Terrible class but still.

- Hit up a wedding at Music Hall Saturday night for my wife’s friend. Knew nob one, barely even the bride and groom, who are like 25. Thoughts:

* The Westside is more or less a ******** or a suburban cliche at best, but the Catholic churches are astoundingly gorgeous.

* And as a Westsider wedding, the surnames of the wedding party was unsurprisingly:

German
German
German
Irish
Irish
Italian

* It’s just amazing what Washington Park has become. Beautiful urban scene and the Music Hall backdrop is gorgeous. Great place for a wedding.

* I generally just play the hits when drinking at weddings- domestic beer, Rum&Coke, bourbon&Coke, may even sneak in a 7&7.

* When around young folk surprises me how often the sports talk you catch in passing is about soccer. Been noticing this the last 5 years.

* We all fancy now but I do have a bit of nostalgia for the days of boxes of Huffmans/Grippos chips and pretzels at every table.

* There’s a certain freedom in being among the least important people at a wedding. Aside from talking to my wife, I don’t believe I had an actual conversation besides basic introductions. @Ron Mehico mentioned something the other day that resonated about losing interest in new friends. If not there, I’m getting there.

* You see your wife every day of your life usually in sweatpants of some sort. It’s nice seeing her dressed up for a wedding and knowing she still has her fastball. She looked much better than my oldass.

* What percentage of maid of honor speeches are good? Maybe 20%? That’s possibly high. It isn’t sexism - dudes just are better in this department. I don’t know why. I just know that I’ve been to enough weddings where I can confidently state this as fact.

* As much as the world has changed over the past 25-30 years, pretty remarkable how little little wedding music has changed. More or less the same ****.

So much to unpack in that post WCC. You will acquire new friends if your kids play sports for any length of time.

Always said, it all came crumbling down when Bridesmaids were allowed to make speeches, "My best friend, we've known each other for....." Stop, raise a glass and shut it. No doubt, the best man will kill it, which is why he is best man.

Wynn, felt like a raise when kid went from pre-school to parochial school.

Reds got us to pre-season NFL and CATS football. Thank you.

I'm not sure I've ever seen a good maid of honor speech.

Also, Chad doesn't have time to hang out with his old friends, so not surprised he isn't taking on new ones these days.

I’ve seen a few great ones, but they’re rare.

And EXACTLY brother.

I still hold out hope that UL will be left out in the cold with conference realignment. When the ACC folds up and they end up back in something like New Metro USA and playing football on Tuesdays at 3 in the afternoon- i'll finally realize pure happiness.

@Creed Bratton My experiences in Hunstville are mostly limited to the University but I have always enjoyed that city... growing a bit too fast, but its mostly with affluent crowds in the engineering and aeronautics field so at least its good economical growth. Cheers to them getting out of Memphis.
Yeah he is a chemical engineer and that is how they wound up there. Yes getting them out of Memphis has been a huge relief for her mother and I.

-out with friends Saturday, buddy made reservations at Lost Palm. Cool spot...limited menu didn't scratch the itch so I called an audible and we bolted to Holly Hill* after the gals finished their cocktails.

^we did run into a bunch of folks I hadn't seen in a while. Again, nice spot...just not a dinner spot.

*the place is still dope after all these years. Ouida's best by a large margin, i reckon.

-hate to see the reds take a **** and die, but as others said...it got me to fall practice. Also per baseball experts (mine is @PTI (pti) ) we're ahead of schedule. They're young...and while they had an *outside* shot at the series, I'm okay with not giving the future away for rental arms. Long term plan, atkot.

-wife got me hooked up for a Pheasant trip in SD this fall. That's cool. Same weekend as Bama...which is disappointing, but my mantra is doing>spectating. Hoping for a night game so I can watch at the lodge.

-qb recruiting is making me very happy. With the D and run game we've had for a number of years...this could portend something good.

-go cats

-Solid wedding randos.

-MoH all suck. Way too long, giggly, and requires 8 pages of the loudest paper on earth. BM short, too the point, because the guy isn't trying to steal the show.

-WCC, you can lose interest in gaining new friends BUT you're about to enter the realm kids school/sports friends. Not a bad place TBH. We've gained some pretty solid friends from G's school/neighborhood buddies/ sports.

-Anytime soccer comes up in conversation, I always make a comment about it being a dumb sport. I mean, it's fine, but the craft beer guys need to be kept in check.

-Guardians of the Galaxy 3. What a pile of ****. How do you f*ck up a movie that bad? Especially considering how good the 1st 2 were. They just straight up stole the Dealpool 2 ending. Whole thing was awful. Same as Thor L&T. They just need to cut bait with whatever they're doing at Marvel and start over. Went from hit after hit to 99% garbage.

-That Ramirez punch was pure luck but man getting KO'd is gonna haunt Anderson for the rest of his life.

Not necessarily. I spoke with a fella for an hour Saturday at the game about his being involved with the Davenport pools mess. They were taking 50% payments to reserve your spot in line and then went bankrupt.

He was asking about me doing my own pool and we talked about it and I offered to help for no profit at all. Just willing help them out.

As I walked away the guy made a joke “cool, maybe next game we’ll exchange names”.

Doubt it pal, but let me know if you want help.

*JT rattling one in and out from the fairway that cost him a playoff spot was brutal. And still having to wait and watch to see if somehow the math worked in his favor may have been even worse.

*Its back to school time folks. Got my daughter some new shoes as every kid should be walking into the classroom with a new pair.

*Day Care's referring to their operation as a {insert faux prestigious name }Day School allows them to charge double the rate I believe.

*You will begin seeing mass sorority dancing on your timelines within the next week or two.

*will be in Lexington in November for kickoff against Alabama, unless rudd extends an invite on his pheasant trip.

*I have zero idea on which conference about half of the schools are even in anymore.

*Messi became the 4th all time goal scorer at Inter Miami yesterday. He's played 4 matches.

*In favor of the Blades of Steel rule where if you win the fight, you arent penalized. Suspend Anderson and fine him. Ramirez is a free man.

* Here's my suggestion to Craft Beer Guy:

- quit trying so hard with your "omg, can i try this kolsch, and the hefe?" you know what you like, you doosh. now order in a hurry and stop tying up the line. nobody else at any bar ever gets to sample the product before ordering. go get ice cream next time, loser.
- once and for all, we need people to understand that ipas smell like dirty feet and are gross.

Sorry not sorry. IT NEEDED TO BE SAID.

* I was about to drop my dear old TCP friend wcc a like, but......rum & coke??

It's summer, bro. Open bar wedding = gin & tonic.

* Dropped off lass and her friend at a trailhead on Saturday morning for a 160-mile, 8-day backpacking trip. Collegiate loop. Living that Dog Dad bach life for a week.

* Here's why my Cincinnati Reds Boner is still permahard.....

IF: 1b (CES/Steer), 2b (McClain), SS (De La Cruz), 3b (Marte)
P: Greene, Lodolo, Abbott, Ashcraft, Williamson
OF: Benson, Friedl, Fraley

Team is stacked. Only have $25 million in contracts for 2024. Plenty of loot to go out and rebuild the bullpen.

* The Angels are 7 games out of the Wild Card, and have lost every single game since going "all in" at the trade deadline. That franchise is absolutely F'd.

* Probably watched this 100 times on TBS back in the day. What a gem.

* What do I need to do to sign up for a bunch of sorority chicks dancing on my social media feed? I just checked and mine is mostly dog pics and kids playing sports. Need an upgrade big time.

* Underrated all time beatdown.

* My dog. She kicked it.

I like an IPA now and then, especially those of the hazy sort. Almost exclusively during the day tho, not sure why. Can't drink more than 1 or 2, then it's cold domests.

Finally made it to the Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery with the kids. Kids worshipped. What a great Dad. Think I caught trout fishing fever again.

Would be nice if Friedl, Fraley, Elly, Steer, Benson and McClain all played in the same game from time to time.

Jack Pilgrim did a great job talking football on the Leach Report Sunday morning. Radio voice. No Klutch, portal rumors or other off the court drama. And he even seems to know players names, which can't be said for every UK sports radio personality.

I had slept on the Stone Saunders recruitment until the weekend. Dude is an absolute STUD. 100 TDs and only 10 picks, 6600 yards, 25-3 record, two state title games and one championship. Gatorade's Pennsylvania player of the year. And he's only going into his junior season. Per his dad (/KC Ross Miller), he put up those numbers only playing three full games, because they blow everyone out and he sits in the second half.

Really interested/curious to see the running game. Seems like we may actually finally go with outside zone stuff now that we have a rebuilt OL and no Snell/Rodriguez type.

I watched "The Jerk" on Netflix last night. Lass was turning in early but saying "I wanted to watch that with you." K. It came out in 1979, I've seen it 100+ times. I am good to watch it again with you and explain every joke if I have to.

Found out one of my wife’s friends is starting to do “sorority rush consulting” and my daughter’s reaction was “I want to go to Alabama, will she help me?” so all the “girls in STEM!” stuff we spent years doing gets overrun by Netflix and the ‘gram I guess.
I have some colleagues that are actually doing this as well. And one that started a side gig turned full time job interior decorating dorm rooms. No more Belushi posters and empty Ancient Age Bottles as decor. Times are wild, man.

RE: Times are wild... these South African political rallies are bonkers. Stadiums full of bloodthirsty mobs. Our politicians could never....

Wedding speeches should be done at the rehearsal dinner. Keep the party moving for the full reception. Only exception is WCC’s FIL singing an original song - that was an all timer.
QFT.

Irish Dads may have the gift for gab, and the right to the mic because they paid for the shindig… but Jesus, if you can’t get to the point after 5 minutes… you may be ruining the vibe you mortgaged for.

All but 2 of my friends are fellow baseball dads. Not necessarily still on the same teams as my kids, but we met through baseball.

Kids go back to school this week & I feel like this is the perfect time to start working from home full-time. I currently commute about an hour each way, which is really a complete waste of time & resources. Most of my jobs are within 30 minutes of my front door & all my work can be done from anywhere with an internet connection. Really looking forward to this.

Speaking of commutes, my oldest made a new team that is based 7 minutes from my front door, vs the 55 minutes his previous team was. 11yo is still a free agent, but I should have him contracted up within the next 2 weeks. Gotta love tryout season.

Speaking of tryout season and back to school, my wife has started using the fall candles. Man. Love those things. Gets me in the mood for some crotons, college gameday & an ice cold michy ultra.

I just cant do any of the marvel movies post-endgame. I gave Black panther a try & hated it. Spiderman was cool but other than that, nothing. I enjoyed wandavision but if I am being honest, I only understood about 45% of what was happening. They need to cancel all projects until the new Deadpool with Wovlerine is ready.
Surely they cant mess that up!

I’d agree, but a handful were trying to break those 3 that were actually guilty of the dock employee. They got what they deserved.

I’ve watched it a few times and truly feel had they not got off that boat once it was broke up then it doesn’t turn into such a disaster.

A whole lot of stupid after just not moving a damn boat.
