Randos:

-Still pretty pumped about what we saw from the BBall team. I have no predictions on the actual season, done with that **** ----> but I'm fairly certain this will be a fun & exciting group, that actually enjoys each other. So many handlers & willing creators/passers really makes things (especially shooting) look so much better. We've had plenty of good shooters of late (as proven by their % before & after their time here) they just never got looks & when they did they weren't typically ready to make them.

Plus, Losses aside, the last several squads have been absolutely JOYLESS, even when playing well/winning. That **** matters, and it spreads to the fanbase. Seems this group isn't going to have that problem. Plus, we have some DUDES & are actually guard/wing heavy for once 🙏

-Super last minute solo trip out to Vegas last weekend for WNBA All Star weekend. Was 111-115 the entire time, which sounds worse than it actually is unless you go there primarily to run, workout, & hike, as my friends do.

Didn't even come within 5 miles of the strip. Stayed downtown for 2 nights, first time actually staying down there...really a lot going on down there these days, especially outside Fremont. Just love the compact nature and pure gambol/odds.

Moved a little out of town for the final night at South Point. Long known as one of the most hardcore sports/racebooks, was super impressed. Place is huge, and actually very nice. Musberger's VSIN studios are there right off the Book, and the racebook is an entirely separate area and pimped out. $10-15 tables Standard, and a really nice pool area. Basically a huge standalone casino/spa/resort in the middle of the desert, highly recommend if you're over the Strip shenanigans as am I.

-After a weekend away in Vegas, my penance was Beyonce last night. PNC Club amenities made it comfy, and the concert was actually a good time. She's not my cup of tea anymore, but damn she looks arguably better than ever, and is one helluva performer. It was basically a 2.5 hour Super Bowl Halftime show in terms of production, live bands, dancers, effects, costumes, sets. Never really been to a Pop World Tour production of that scale. Was dreading, but it was fine, as concerts almost always are. The talent in attendance was supreme, and Lassie enjoyed. Also treated a biz partner and his avid 🐝 wife.

Highlight was a 30 minute house/dance segment where she wore a skin colored outfit with a bikini wrap of one black hand on her breast & one black hand on her P, to where it looked like she was getting blasted the entire time. Pretty dope.

-Any you footballs have a lean on RB1? Always assumed it would be Davis after we landed, but that doesn't seem to be the case, or at least far from clear cut. Been a long time since we've been in this spot without a true feature guy.

-I love any kind of summer 'salad': Cucumber, Tomato, Onion, Corn, Guac, etc. etc.

-Idle Hour Saturday w/ the besties. 😎

-Worst Summer for new music I can recall, but I guess it's to be expected. Even in recent years, as music gets worse and worse, you can still typically count on a handful of summer jams.

-Been on a MASSIVE shellfish kick this summer. Oysters, Lobster, Crab, Mussels. Nearly weekly, and Can't seem to get enough.

--Anyone besides Chad & I ready for Fall yet? All in favor of just skipping August (or if you've seen a leprechaun) say YAYEAAH!

Nephew is a freshman Preferred Walk On.

He’s been with the team since June 1 for summer workouts. They had a little break for the 4th of July and he was at a family get together where I was. He told me tthe summer chatter is that Davis will be RB1. Leary is legit in the pocket but not mobile. Deone Walker has become a workout freak.

Also, kids will be kids, but he said the lockeroom truly believes this is the year for Atlanta based on what should be an elite defense and offense with so many weapons. I thanked my nephew for the intel and told him I trust he will enjoy his journey being a Wildcat.

Can’t wait to see a Soph Barion Brown/Dane Key out wide. Added muscle and size to go with what was already a next level skill set, ***** please!

9/30 date with the Gators who are extremely down on Napier and the state of the program.

Possibly undefeated going into the UGA game which should be the 3:30pm CBS slot.

I do enjoy being under the radar nationally, meanwhile doing my best to control my expectations!

Atlanta in football and 40-0 in basketball?!?

You people are CRAZY!!!!!

No intel on chips on any shoulders?

Stoops brother, Mike, may be half nuts. Old school football coach. Very intense. Courtney Love, also coaching the linebackers indirectly, is more of the good cop/players coach.

Lynn Bowden has been working out in Lexington this summer and I guess is kind of an ******* to the younger players. That’s fine with me, btw. Pay your dues, young bloods.

Saturday, I took the wife and little man to Arthur Ave in the Bronx to get stuff for my 19yo’s birthday dinner.

This area is NYCs last stand for upholding the old-school undrawn lines of eff around and find out mafioso neighborhoods. An enclave of bakeries, coffee shops, butchers, cheese places, salumieri, seafood markets. Clean as a whistle amid the chaos of the surrounding BX.

My little guy is the most chill boy out there and he gave a gripe having to be included in dads latest adventure. As soon as I said there will be street clams… he was stoked. The clams were briney, cold and clean. 12 for $15

Fresh bread, mozzarella from Casa Di Mozzarella, braciole, Cavatelli, ravioli, cannoli, TiraMisu birthday cake.

Grocery items secured by walking one city block and into about 10 storefronts.

Highly recommend.

-If you're looking for more attainable local options, the Jack Fry's oyster starter today was the best bite of food I've had in KY in a long time. Shew. Lunch, one of about 10 total tables, in and out under 45 minutes. All while being safely protected by the waitress' t-shirt cloth mask.

-Saw a guy in there eating alone reading the paper. Looked very peaceful. Used to eat lunch alone all the time. Now it's basically always at my desk. I should try that more often.

-Summer games definitely helped ease the overall feeling going into next season. Certainly not even close to changing my, prove it stance, but at least we had some really positive take aways. Mitchell and Reeves seem important. Lol.

-STOOPS TROOPS though... I cut the brake lines the second they opened up $15 draft beer to the masses. Why not?

-TdF has been unreal this year. Proof that doping is alive and well in the sport but still an awesome race. I'll take it.

-Redlegs are struuuugling. Damn.

-One of the most mild summers ever and y'all begging for fall. SMH. 100% chance we're getting an Indian Summer.

-Worship 110+ Vegas pools. Worship.

-Confirmed in the Bahamas, tequila just isn't my thing.

Well of course tequila didn’t taste good in the Bahamas. It’s a rum country. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Pti....3 for his last 25 now w/ 10 K's. Second major slump in last couple of weeks as I predicted. World of "potential" but the ridiculous accolades from you and others were premature and ignorant. He'll have a good game here and there and it may be tonight but his liabilities at the plate are being magnified. Let the kid grow...putting him leadoff is even more asinine than cleanup. He needs a break and possibly even a stint back in AAA.

Oh, but he hit a ball hard at the SS. Cue up Sadak having a seizure.

Randoms:

- One of my favorite people are those who claim a passion for travel. Yeah man, I like vacation too. “No dude, like I really like vacation.” Ok then.

- In social situations, I generally have little self control so I appreciate the fact a family vacation generally brings a good amount of rest. If I go on a trip with my buddies, there’s no chance in hell I come home in decent shape. But while I managed a good buzz every night, it’s rarely over-the-top and I came home in better emotional shape than I left. That’s a win.

- One of my great fears is my daughter turns into one of those little teenage snots who refers to her parents by their first names. “Sorry, Ava, John and Karen are being aholes and won’t let me go to the party tonight.”

So the fact, my daughter has picked up my first name and is intermittent using it along with “daddy” has me on edge.

- This is a humblebrag so I apologize but never did I think I’d be hopping around the turquoise sea on friends’ boats in the Bahamas. I was swimming off a boat right in front of Shania Twain’s old house and the people who own Sandals on Saturday. I’m looking around like “how’d I get here?” Life is weird and wonderful.

- Hit up the Ocean Club, where they filmed James Bond Casino Royale. Had one of my favorite drinks of all-time, a tropical old fashioned. The banana-infused ice cube was choice.

- @B.B.d.K. will enjoy this, my wife’s best friends husband was telling me about the time 10 or so years ago he and his boys were getting rowdy at some Atlantis club when who introduced himself and partied with them the rest of the night? MIKE JONES 😂 No ****.

- While I would have assumed Colombian, my Caribbean friends claim Venezuela easily produces the best looking women in Latin America.
- I’ll never learn APPARENTLY that bringing toddlers, especially multiple, to a nice restaurant completely undermines the benefits of a nice restaurant.

- I look at my daughter and this charmed life she leads. Sleeps 11 hours a night with a strong offer each day to nap. She’s routinely taken out to breakfast, lunch and dinner by her grandparents. Never asked to pick up the tab. I didn’t fly on a plane until I was 13. She’s been to California and the Caribbean now twice. Plus she gets free chocolate milk and fruit snacks anytime she wants them.

- Does anyone know a George Frazier a rich dude who owns a bunch of bourbon brands or did at some point? My buddy down there was friends with him or something. Sounded familiar but I didn’t know.

- These MFers who stand in the aisles as soon as the plane lands. 🙄

- Locals don’t think a shark ate that Louisiana kid. They think a current got him.

- I only saw highlights of the games. How did Dillingham look?

- Remember- Will Smith didn’t have to cuss in his songs to sell records.

- Sandra Bullock has never done a thing for me. Marissa Tomei however is an all-timer.

- Any of your kids have night terrors? Mine has them every now and again and it’s pretty scary. Didn’t even know what it was until Googling. I’m like yep, that’s exactly it.

- Daughter’s latest passion is Encanto. I can live with it. Great movie. That Lin-Manuel Miranda is some kind of talent.

- I have another female trend that needs called out- these chicks with so much damn filler in their faces that they look like diamondheads. Bizarre.

- Remember the wet t-shirt loophole that allowed nudity for swimsuit issues and Maxim? Man, us 80s and 90s kids lived for that. Sad times.

- Been a weird summer- it’s like a horseshoe of brutal heat around the country but there we sit just above and inside completely spared.

- @B.B.d.K. I would assume your lady thinks Taylor Swift blew Bey out of the water? True?

- Meeting some old college buddies in Nashville in August. Besides that, it’s full speed to sweet, sweet fall now.

SHUT UP.

Don’t freaking do it. Do NOT get excited. CES just hit a 3 run go ahead pinch hit homer in his fourth big league at bat.

Don’t smile. Don’t enjoy it. Don’t have fun. Absolutely ZERO enjoyment here. These are the rules. Get back to me in 15 years and we’ll review his entire career. Until then STFU and pump all brakes. Everyone who thinks that homer was good is totally wrong . Shut up.

-whoever built that house has to be taking a bath for that swimming lane pool, probably cost 50-100K so it’s 1/10 to a 1/5 the price of the entire house, smh.

-Love these wcc Bahamas posts, gets me stoked to be back in the area.

-Those locals are probably right, sharks just dont kill many people compared to the number of them and people in the ocean daily.

You’re more likely to be snapped in half by a hippo numbers wise.

-Haven’t drank liquor at all and only 9 beers in the last 50 or so days.

Psilocybin is the ****.

-I don’t stand up by any means…unless someone tries to stand in my “spot” in the aisle and then I’ll politely instruct them on how this works, rarely get any flack back.

-Abdolutely LOVING helping coach this wrestling program and damn it’s 5 days a week until I leave. So rewarding and having kids look up and listen to you instruct them is amazing.

There are so many girls doing it too which is fantastic. They’re going to really embarrass so dumb boys that think they can make fun or bully a girl in high school, like move counties embarrass.

Not much better as a dad I would guess than knowing your daughter can lay out a dude on his back and hold him down, maybe even make him tap.

That's a good post, @wcc31. Old school randoms.

I will say the main thing with a family vacation is it is actually a "trip" for the most part. I come back a different kind of tired from kid/family vacations than party/adult vacations.

Ocean Club has a fantastic restaurant. Only been the one time in 2014 for the Cats first Bahamas trip, but I would like to go back.

GYERO kids and their charmed lives... Last week, G found a penny on heads and was all excited to get "good luck". About 2 hours later, he was down in the dumps and whiny and when asked why he said that his penny hadn't brought him good luck yet. @anthonys735 pointed out to him that his entire life is good luck.

Still waiting for Luke's passion to NOT be Paw Patrol. Eff that show.

How about you meet some old buddies in Lexington this fall?

Checks out. Women in communist countries tend to be either ridiculously hot or sad.

<---- would murder a Jack Fry's in Lexington. Lexington has upped its game in the last decade but Louisville remains dominant in cuisine in this commonwealth. So I guess Louisville has at least something going for it.

* For wcc: Dillingham, imo, looked better than expected last week -- especially shooting and being a great teammate. He dribbles too much (as most any hotshot incoming freshman point guard will) but looked to pass and wasn't a ballhog. He's also got a megawatt smile and seems like a good kid.

My biggest worry with him is size. He looks about 5'11 and he's skinny. Some of that may come from the comparison of him playing beside Wagner and Lil Shep, who both look like they've been in a college conditioning program since the cradle. Not sure where he fits in on defense.

It seemed like Cal played him off the ball more than you would expect and used Lil Shep as the backup point. One of the KSR guest hosts compared him to Ryan Harrow. That's not terrible in terms of skills, size, and athleticism but Dillingham gives no impression of being a pussboi ***** or a headcase. I thought he looked good but he's easily behind Wagner and Lil Shep now and it isn't close. (And Reed is much closer to Wagner than Dillingham is to Reed.)

* I've been listening to Matt and Shane's Secret Podcast lately. It is total bro-humor and features Shane Gillis, who has been on Rogan multiple times and is a killer. After COVID, I've found myself avoiding anything that even touches on politics for my entertainment.

* I'm getting Huber-giddy about football. Our defense looks as strong as its been. We may lack depth at LB and have some unknowns at corner but I trust Brad White to scheme around any deficiencies. The combo of Deone Walker and JJ Weaver (6 FINGER DISCOUNT, SON!) might be our best pass rush since Josh Allen.

Don't sleep on the NC State RB transfer (Demie Sumo-Karngbaye). He averaged 5.5 yards per carry last year in an injury-plagued season. We are going running back by committee so everyone who can milk out 4 or 5 yards per carry and wear out the legs of defenses just opens up playaction opportunities elsewhere. We seem to have a lot of those guys.

If you want to dream about what could be, watch Devin Leary's highlights from 2021 (when he was last healthy) and imagine him in Coen's 2021 offense. I know that huge UK football fans like UKO and I are PUMPED ABOUT THE POSSIBILITIES!

Down in Rogues hometown of St Pete. Lot of older hotels, but a lot of new ones being built here and thru Treasure Island, madierra. Could see this area looking a lot different in 10 years with all the construction. like the town a lot.

Night terrors - remember them well with my boy. Was crazy how his eyes would be wide open scared outta his mind but could hear absolutely nothing you were saying to calm him down. Had to just sit there and see him stay upset for a few minutes till it was over and he suddenly laid back down asleep again. phrase “snapped out of it” comes to mind.

-Good parenting right there, love that. More kids need to know that.

On the other side of that, at the wrestling program we’ve got a kid with half an arm since birth and ends with about an inch past the elbow with a small palm and 1 finger.

Kid gives it his all, I’m sure he’s bullied at school but shows up to practice every day. Some days with certain exercises he tries to pull the “I can’t” card. False buddy, we’re not taking that as an excuse. You’re the same as everyone else.

Last night it was crab walks. He said he couldn’t do them and two of the other kids got down and started doing it with him and waited at his pace to finish the drill. Other kids were cheering him on. Next thing you know he’s smiling and smoking through crab walks.

I’ll be gd’d if moments like that don’t make driving to Richmond at rush hour, coaching kids/teens in a sweaty, stinky warehouse in the middle of summer five days a week for 1.5 hours, for negative money, COMPLETELY worth it. 🥹

When he asked what I meant. I explained he could've been born in a tacky mixed used community, where fake looking homes are built that completely disregard a respectable distance from the property line, and apparently it's completely acceptable to have a trampoline in your front yard.

You can’t find a post anywhere of me saying Tupac is alive.

Pretty sure that article explains the shooter has long been dead too, but they may be able to gather new evidence on a possible accomplice.
