Everyone was flipping out about Wenbayama or whatever, I was saying you basically have to draft him but I really wouldn’t want to. Bust or injuries all/air.

Yep, my first thought was the guy that shot up that concert a few years ago.

Call me a workout nut, but I don't believe the official stories we got about that incident.
Anyone who has ever shot a bump fire or full auto AR knows the official story is bogus. But then again some people think our government is batting 1.000 when it comes to telling the truth

No one asked me but at this point the way Shaedon Sharpe is playing, the talent Simons, Grant and Nurkic have Dame Lilliard would be best served to stay in Portland.

Thybulle, Kris Murray(Keegan’s brother) and Scoot off the bench is solid albeit in the West maybe 6-8 seed at best.

Regardless that’s a better group than Miami will have, IMO.

It begs the question of how Cal is gonna coach small ball? This is going to be interesting on so many levels. Plus this is going against everything he does so you know it’s killing him and he might stroke out.

Had never heard of Celine clothing but got a bunch last shipment. Holy crap, $850 for a hoodie, $700 for sweatpants, $600 for a t-shirt.
People actually buy these like I’m doing them a favor. They just have the name CELINE on them, that’s it. Unflippingreal.

-It’s the same as that stupid brand supreme, it was nothing but regular clothes that said supreme and people paid a bunch of money to have it. Such a joke.

-Will be interesting to see how many tech flops the NBA actually call this year. I’m assuming it will be zero by playoff time.

Got my little guy a dozen Wiffle Balls in the display box, with the perfect little boxes holding the precious balls. 1970’s packaging with retro cartoons to boot.

It may have well been Christmas.

Working from home I enjoyed spying on Him and a couple neighbor boys were playing old school wiffle ball on my driveway. Best $27 spent ever.

THAT certainly is better than playing some mobile Chinese app on a phone for 5 hours.

So, I chimed in their game and decided to show them how to hit bombs. Promptly pulled a shoulder muscle. 🤡

Kind of excited for it and hope that is still coach pitch.

It begins...

I choose to believe they brought their kids to the airport, just then realized they needed passports that they didn’t think to get ahead of time, and left them at the terminal with a half assed “welp…. sucks to be you!” as they went on through security. Those kids are still in the terminal btw, like that Tom Hanks movie.

If this guy wasn’t the Home Plate Blue they weren’t doing it right.

My son has taken to taking off on his bike with some friends and disappearing for hours on end.

I mean, they’re probably smoking drugs, but I prefer to think they’re up to good old fashioned summer time hijinks and adventures
You can be sure at some point they'll be chased by some shady government types while protecting an alien/monster/falsely accused criminal and they are going to have to outwit a couple of bullies along the way. Don't worry though, the bullies almost always end up doing a 180 and help them in the end.

I guess I’ve reached the “clueless dad who doofs around” stage of life then.

-On 4th of July, I went on a 4 mile jog. G only likes to run short distances so I couldn’t get him to go with me. Came home and made him get off his Xbox (switch? PlayStation?) and come outside and sprint against me in the driveway. He beats me most times these days but I can usually get him a few races. My legs were toast and I kept pulling up towards the end when it was clear I was going to lose so I didn't hurt myself. And then on the last race, I gave it my all, the effer still beat me and I hurt my back. I've been on the DL for over a week now. Sucks getting old. I've been using tens machine, theragun, cat/cow stretching, foam roller, got a deep tissue massage, taking Advil, etc. But it may be a bit before I can run again. And I'm not racing that kid anymore.

-Congrats to Eastern Little League 7U and 8U teams for winning the state title last night. I'm glad we aren't playing baseball all summer, but a little jealous of their run.

-I thought the Palumbo kids had their passports because they went to the Bahamas this past August. Maybe they expired? I know you guys despise Toots, but she really is a nice person. She was so easy to work with, always took care of clients/recognized their needs, etc. And Joe Joe is awesome too.

-No Willy, Schems are not in Canada. Beans are though. They don't fly up til today so they have to watch the game on their iPad in the airport on their layover. Puppies sent.

-Snack down of Granddam, the new restaurant in The Manchester Hotel. I went on Monday evening with a couple girlfriends. I wasn't really excited to go because nothing on the menu specifically appealed to me. But we ended up taking our server's suggestions and split a bunch of stuff and it was all really good. (Plus the old GM at Ruby's is the manager there now and I love him and he took care of us.)

Shrimp fritters - these were good but probably least fave of everything. A little too much breading and not enough shrimp. The remoulade was good.
Tomato Carpaccio - delicious! Slices of tomato topped with corn, bleu cheese, pickled shallots. The flavors all went together nicely. I would have liked to have that salad all to myself
Broccolini and rice - broccolini cooked perfectly (I find that hard to do myself. And so does Ruby's in my experience.) with risotto. I love risotto. This was really good. More of a side dish than meal.
Country ham w/parker rolls - star of the show? Kinda weird to say about that about ham sandwiches, but the rolls were soft and delicious, the ham was thin sliced and perfectly salty and the grainy mustard... just delightful
Fried chicken - this was really good. I only had a few bites once we split it 3 ways. Cornbread was good with it too.

I want to try the trout and beet salad next time.

The manager took us upstairs to Lost Palm. They were successful creating a cool Miami-like vibe. You have to have reservations to go up there. I think they are trying to keep away the college crowd. They also have a food menu, but it's small and mostly appetizers. It was full though and the restaurant downstairs was mostly full. Who are all these people dressed up and out on a Monday night? Oh and the patio to Granddam was beautiful too with lots of plants/couches and a fire pit.

Also I saw on socials (Tod and Maria) that Ludacris was at Lost Palm performing last week. I guess my invite got lost in the mail.

Post Dead Period Obs and Randos:

- Yes, all of you Bahamas travelers (both men and women) looked very fit and well put together in your topless pool photos. Tastefully, respectfully speaking of course.

- Speaking of fit, was there some mention of how running (read, hitting the pavement) just isn't enough anymore? Did I read that correctly? Not everyone wants to look like a meathead/gearhead when you reach your mid to upper 40s. Miss me with that, brah. To sit there and say running doesn't make you look good/fit/strong/whatever in the hell is stupid.

- While I'm ruffling feathers, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a thin crust supreme from Pizza Hut once every 2 months or so. Don't sit there and tell me you're too good for that.

- Without googling, which of these people are still alive: Bob Dole, Jimmy Carter, Gene Hackman, Gene Wilder, Angela Lansbury, or Larry King. Gun to my head, I wouldn't be confident in any of my selections.

- I'll be 47 in a couple of weeks and I have officially hit the "Past Middle Age" portion of my life. Some random Bryan Adams stuff came up in a Spotify shuffle the other day during one of my runs, and I have now worked him into my playlists. Acoustic versions of "Run to You" and "Cuts Like a Knife" make for some cool summertime music. Can't believe I just typed that out.

- Also heard the Unplugged version of "Rebel Yell" and an unplugged cover of "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" by Great White. Good stuff, yippe!

- High Noon Rankings:
1. Watermelon (Game changer)
2. Pineapple (Was my fave until I had #1)
3. Black Cherry (Great taste, but causes puckeration)
4. Grapefruit (surpsiingly good)
5. Whatever else
D.A.L. (Dead *** Last) - Mango (also known as "Rusty Trombone")

- So Modelo is now the best selling beer in America? Dos Equis really missed their chance. The Most Interesting Man dropped the ball.

- Looking at the prices of tacos supreme vs. regular tacos at The Bell makes me wonder what the value of tomatoes and sour cream actually is.

- Of course Shaedon Sharpe is a freak. /old school purple roll eyes.

- I just can't muster even a drop of fake enthusiasm about these exhibition games this week. Don't care.

- It's been a glorious summer weather-wise here in South Central. Apparently, the rest of the world is boiling to death so we've been pretty lucky here in our section of the air fryer. #KirsteyAlley #GlobalWarwwwarrrming

Running is great for you but it shouldn't be your only exercise. Especially if your main goal is to lose weight and be tone. I'm actually pumped I have my back in shape to do some light yogging. However, resistance training is far more important for longevity and overall health. Good functional resistance training is completely different than body building. Run 3 days, lift 3 days.
