Hey all. I could use some prayers right now.

My anxiety has been a bit out of control here lately, and some of that has been due to my car giving me some issues. I get the car looked at Wednesday after waiting 2 weeks (due to nearly every shop being covered up, even the dealer couldn't look at it until July!) But I've been stressing a bit as I'm worried it may be the trans. I don't want to go car shopping in this insane market.

So, I could just use some positive thoughts and prayers right now.

Well, good luck. Are you on medication, or seeing a therapist? Seems like you’re easily triggered. If the world ended tomorrow would you still be upset about your auto? I need new brakes on my truck, and I’m having them installed. Not worrying about it just getting them replaced. **** happens all the time. A father up the road from me just shot his 3 boys ages 3, 4 and 7. Shot his wife but she lived. Now that’s something I’m sure their family is worrying about. Just a little Perspective.

I realize there's a lot worse going on in the world. But thanks I guess? I

Anxiety is no joke.. that is for sure. Hope everything ends up being ok with your car and it's not your transmission. This too shall pass.

If you don't want my advice stop reading here.

Here's what I would do.. buy an older inexpensive car that is in good shape to get you through this time. Then when the market is better, get the vehicle that you really want without paying the jacked up prices.

Prayers and hope your car is fine. Anxiety and being in your own head sucks and can lead you down bad paths. I’ve been recently taking my moms advice, take 2 deep breaths and if you can go for a short walk that always helps mec

That Ohio POS? I'm a former amateur boxer, man oh man I'd love to get in a cell with that guy. Just throw away the key and let me do what I do.

Thankfully, it's a death penalty state, hopefully he gets what's coming to him on Earth before descending to the deepest pits of hell

Yeah, mine is older at the moment; I've had it a good long time. She's been a good and faithful vehicle.

I'm not looking for anything fancy either. Just something from A to B. The problem is a lot of what is on the market is crazy. Asking 19-24k for cars with 80k miles on them. Like, geez.

Thank you for your thoughts. It's just one of those "I don't want to have to stress about work and finding a vehicle all at once."

Yeah, Saturday was rough. I'm trying to limit how much I drive right now and it was hot. Got out and walked for a bit, but the sun was pretty hot and I cut it short.

I struggle with ADHD so, having something potentially wrong puts me in a bit of a paralysis.

Been there. Quite a few times. The absolute best treatment I know of for anxiety, stress, depression is endorphins. I go for some runs or bike rides. Anything you can do to get your heart rate up for extended times will pay off bigtime. Helps for after you cool down and really helps you sleep. So, try to get any type of cardio in that you can. Hope everything works out alright!

Kind of dumb comment. What does the POS who murdered his kids have anything to do with someone struggling with anxiety? Anxiety can come on for no reason at all and obviously you have never suffered. Sometimes just best to keep your mouth shut if you have nothing positive to say. Prayers up @bbncal02 ! Hang in there.

I run to distract me from stuff. But with work since we’re in similar jobs/areas I struggle with projects where my boss is extremely vauge and expects me to understand.

Thanks. I'm trying. I've been doing a lot better with it lately, but now there's an actual external factor exacerbating the already latent internal crap.

You got it.

P.S. Mine has a disposable CVT and has been making some weird noises. I’ve changed the fluid twice now and so far, it just keeps on going (by the grace of God!) so I’m trying to not let it worry me anymore, but sometimes that easier said than done!

Damn. That really escalated. BBN, I hope you feel better soon. The above comment mentioning therapy sounds like a good idea. It really helps a lot of people.

I've thought about it, but getting insurance to cover something like that is tricky at times.

I wasn't discounting his position at all per se.

This is exactly how you DON’T talk to someone with anxiety. Anxiety removes all sense of perspective and rationality and sometimes even reality. Pointing that out to someone going through a high-anxiety time does nothing for them and can exacerbate the situation.

I will pray for you. Car issues can be stressful; especially if you are low on funds. I went used car shopping last year and used car prices have gone way up the last 5 years. the one good thing is my Corolla had sprung a good oil leak so at least I didn't have to put a ton of money into it as the car was dying anyway.

I’ve struggled with it a lot myself the last few years. Most of mine is stemming from a divorce (worries I’ve had over my son) and health anxiety. I know me and you had a bit of an argument once here, but I wish you all the best

How old is your Corolla? I've been thinking about going that route as I'm on the road often and they are known for reliability with good maintenance

I had a 2000 Corolla and got about 230,000 miles out of it. I bought a 2008 Nissan Altima with 170, 000 miles on it last year for 6,000. I've had good luck with Toyotas and Nissans. Hondas are good cars but they are overpriced imo.

I feel that and I will say a prayer for you. Car problems suck but just remember that it’s just a machine that can be replaced. If you do need a new one buy new if possible. Find some 2022 models they wanna get rid of and get a deal. Used cars are selling for a ton so they wanna move inventory especially the year old models.

I love my accord, thing just keeps running. I was browsing some of the 2023’s today. Mines almost at 220k so it’s time to get a new one, I’ll keep this one still because it’s in great shape though.

My mom just bought a 2022 Corolla, it’s pretty awesome and was only like 19k. It’s a bit small for me but gets great gas mileage and runs smooth. The 4 banger could use a turbo though, not a lot of power.
