Huggins resigning is the best move for everyone involved. Hopefully he gets help and moves forward with a good life. That being said… there is no reason Cal shouldn’t be contacting some of the WVU players. We need players that can play meaningful minutes and time is getting short.
Totally agree. Why kick a guy when he is down.
Cal has turned into such a softie that I would be surprised if he reaches out to any WVU players. I know Huggins is no longer the HC but I can see Cal thinking he doesn't wanna pillage WVU's roster out of respect for Huggins. They are good friends.
I think you mean, somebody tell Cal to turn off the TV. Little House on the Prairie is available on demand. He wouldn't miss any episodes.

It would be different if someone else got fired and Huggins was brought in as the new coach. In this case--if the friendship plays any role at all--Huggins could tell the kids Cal will take care of you.
But I don't see it as any sort of kindness or favor to Huggins.
I think we need to think differently about this. I would think Huggins if and when he finds out that his players do intend to leave for real that he would examine what squads need help and steer them. Kentucky has more than one need and because of their friendship I would think Bob would give Cal a call

If Cal sees a need for any of those players then he will reach out to them. If he doesn't, he won't. That's how it should be. And I for sure hope he continues to not seek advice from a message board on who to recruit.

People do make mistakes and in todays world it’s easy to get cancelled for those mistakes. Nobody is perfect, hell I know it won’t happen but Cal should give him a job at Kentucky…….
Kerr Kriisa and Edwards are immediately eligible the rest need a waiver. Interesting to see what the NCAA does here since they said no more waivers no matter what.

NCAA rules are anti institution. These kids may love a coach but its the school that gives them a free ride.
Doubt Kriisa would want to come here unless Cal guarantees he would start and Cal is not making that promise with Wagner, Edwards, and Dillingham on the squad.
I think Mulcahy is our best bet on the wing.

I never liked poaching players. It'd be as much out of respect for WVU as for Huggins.
WTF.Cal's job is to win games and he has to get more players to do that.
Isn't poaching when you ask them to enter portal and transfer? But if they indicate they will enter the portal, as in this case, is that poaching? They are going somewhere, unless the home school can convince them to stay.
You can’t argue with that fool, I wouldn’t be surprised if that is Cal’s daughter’s account.
