He needs to have it today. Redshirt him next year. He is not the same player, hasn't been the same player and won't be the same player till he fixes his wrist. Waiting till after his career is a big mistake but I am no doctor. 2c

It's like you strive to make at least a portion of every single post you make ridiculous. This one is a lot more than a portion. What is he -- 46% from 3 and 4th in the conference in scoring? It's clearly not working, let's blow it up with the experimental surgery that isn't even remotely close to a guaranteed success. Genius.

There's more to basketball than shooting. If you can't see the difference in his play pre-injury to now and have to revert to shooting stats to see if I have an argument that should tell you something about yourself.

I'm with you, but can't he do it after the season? I mean damn we're halfway through now. At least he has now learned what it would be like physically to play through the pain.

No question it's bothering him immensely.

you're right. you know what's best for him. not our back-to-back-to-back final four coach or q's doctors and advisors.

So his hurt wrist is limiting his defense? He's better in every offensive category than he was a year ago outside of turning it over slightly more often, which is easily attributable to being doubled quite often. Even in advanced metrics.

He was a big fish in a small pond last year. He's a big fish in a bigger pond this year. Teams are doubling him and frustrating him offensively quite often -- when he was the afterthought that came out of nowhere last year.

But, sure, let's have the surgery that is just as likely to help nothing and cost him more time than he likely hopes to be in college -- in order to satisfy some phantom difference that you imagined in your head -- because he's had a couple of down games.

If it's something that only you and Goat have thought of -- it's probably genius*

Look at those comparisons. He's clearly not the same!11!1

KenPom says he was good in 2 of 14 games last year against A or B level competition.
He's 3 of 8 so far this year.

A week ago you wanted him to have surgery in the offseason, now you want the surgery TODAY?

Actually this was my last post on here about Q before today

"How do you workout your left arm with a torn ligament in your wrist and how does 10-15 years of limited ability in the weightroom for one of your arms affect your S&C development? Q needs to have the surgery asap. Redshirt him next year."

The basketball takes by the

board can offer lots of comedy. You should have seen it during the Stansbury years, well you may have.

ETA: did goat downvote every post in here that suggested surgery now was dumb, or didn't approve of it?

This is a bad idea and there is no way that Q goes for it. The medical professionals they consulted said that the recovery takes forever and the successful recovery is far from guaranteed. Also he would jeopardize his chances of playing with his brother.

Why let that

stop you from giving your medical opinion. Hell, 3/4ths of these clowns have never played basketball, but they can tell you why they know more than Howland. If you don't believe me, just ask them.

And here's your post from one week ago today, the time frame which I specified.

He's not the same player since the injury. I really think he should have the surgery right now and start the recovery process asap. Redshirt all next year. If they can double wrap a ligament around Matt Harvey's elbow they can fix Spoon's wrist. Get Dr. Andrews to do it.

That's what message boards are for.

If you require only intelligent conversation you are barking up the wrong tree.

And in that post I said "he should have the surgery right now". Amazing that you searched for that post, read it, posted it, commented on it and still didn't realize I said "right now" and not "offseason".

I love when I haven't been on this message board in a few weeks, and then I find a thread by Dawg61 where he makes yet another idiotic statement with all downvotes. He used to think I was the only one that thought he was a moron. Threads like this provide my justification.

Haha...that's what I get for trying to post during a tense Duke game.

Here's what you said in the same thread. 14 hours later in that thread it was a call for immediate surgery.

Q needs to have the surgery in the offseason imo

You haven't been on the other message board in two years cause I made your dumbass quit. Glad to know you still love sucking on my basketball posts though.

When Q has the surgery before he retires it'll mean I was right about this. When he retires and then has the surgery it'll mean y'all are right. Pretty soon he is gonna realize he can either pay for the surgery himself later or he can have it paid for by us now or risk that a pro team will pay for it. We'll see which he chooses.

Great, here is me for like the fifth time in this thread saying he should have the surgery now. Bookmark this post so it'll be easier for you to search for it later.

Maybe if he had surgery now he'd be back to 100% by mid June. You know, when it really matters.
