Legit. Let’s assume reeves comes back that’s 7 or 8 I don’t know for sure. But what does Kentucky do with the rest of the roster, they aren’t many optiosn and the ones that could become available is doesn’t seem like Kentucky is on. In a extremely important year for cal, everything he is doing now is not great

I would love Grant Nelson but everyone thinks it's NBA vs Arkansas.I feel like Kobe Brown is a pipe dream and remains in the draft.Smith hasn't officially entered the portal but if he does Cal had better grab him.

I honestly bet cal gets reeves back and hopes Livingston and Oscar comes back and calls it a day

My prediction all along has been 2 noteworthy additions with 1 of those probably being Reeves. Then another grad transfer that’s a good player at the 4/5. Finish off the roster with a guy or 2 that will be lucky be able to walk and chew gum at the same time.

Then it’ll be very much eye of the beholder this off-season whether that roster is 2016-17 2.0 or the end of the John Calipari era at UK.

I don’t think Cal’s spiel works with a number of players, especially when they’re older and more mature. His videos of Johnson looked like he was a Mafia Don showing him around or something, as a parent, it wouldn’t have worked well with me if I were there with my son.

Right. Because you can’t play.

The guys that can play it works great for.

If that’s the case, then the team is worse then 2016-17

Also watch this second grad transfer wave be Kaluma and the Phillips kid from Tennessee and that’s it

Most will agree with the deserved pessimism rampant in the fan base.

I think there will be parallels
Fox-Wagner
Monk-Edwards
Bam- Bradshaw
Briscoe- Reeves
Willis- good 4 transfer
Hawkins- Dillingham
Mulder- Adou
Gabriel- different positions entirely but Reed
Humphries/SKJ/Wynyard- Ugo. They combined for less than 20 MPG not even factoring all the DNP’s from the 2 knuckleheads.

The big 3 freshman and Briscoe absolutely carried that team in production/ability. That class was better than the 23 one admittedly but the 247 composite had our 3 at 6/9/11 and this year it’s 3/4/6. Revisionist history with all their success at UK and beyond clouds our judgment of that roster on paper. Going into the season there wasn’t doubt because no elite freshman prospect had burned us yet whereas now we’ve been burnt numerous times really since that class.

That would be hard since neither are grad transfers and both entered like 10 days ago! I do think that people need to temper their grad transfer expectations outside of one good post player. After that think much more Ryan Young type than Kobe Brown type.

I would gladly take Kaluma but our staff probably isn’t interested or won’t try. If tolu smith is the only option than I guess we have to go all in

2017 wins the national title if given a fair officiated game. If this team was somehow close to that by March I'd be happiest I've been since 2019 or even 2017 itself. Long way to go to feel half that good about this roster though IMO.

I don’t I look at this roster right now as not even a top 25 roster, I agree with you about 2017. Next years team is not a good team as of now, it can change but I no longer believe or trust in cal to make the roster seriously competitive. Kentucky will no doubt be short handed again, and cal will use the same oh we’re young Bs, or I have injured players and we’re playing short handed

Going into that season I don’t think it would’ve been fair to expect 36 points and 7 assists a game from those 2. As fun as that team was and as worried as people are around here about depth, only 5 guys even got to 5 PPG contributors

Aw now, you know what's going on with the roster! You and your buddy TampedCat. You're on the transfer portal like stink on ****. Tell us about it! What miracle is Cal going to perform? What quality player is coming to sit behind freshmen?

Cal is going to have to play the NIL game as much as he seems to hate it.It's all these transfers care about or he will keep striking out.

Good points, but Kentucky does need bench pieces and they don’t even have a shooter on the roster right now

I’m with ya on valuing shooting. Being able to spread the floor will be huge to the success of Dillingham and Wagner.
I get the players in the portal not wanting to come sit behind anybody, but Kentucky needs more shooting than just reeves if he returns
