Didn't say he's going there but as long as he takes that visit, they should be considered. Villanova has success, he's played against their system and lost in Sweet 16 game in '22 and then saw them go to another Final Four...and throw in they have connections to him and shooting around him.

Shooting around a big man matters. They'd also let him play face up 5 man and 5 out basketball at times as well.

I'm still laughing how he'd fit into the DDM offense that we're supposedly hearing Cal is saying he's going back to. Heard that every offseason when he's recruiting. That offense makes 0 sense with a big man like Dickinson too.
A motion offense predicated on beating your man off the dribble and getting to the rim, what oils go wrong if you play 4 non shooters and one shooter in that offense like cal will next year

No way they can pony out the money Kansas and Uk can.
Of course not. But it may not be completely about money to him either. He may want to get closer to home as well. Or maybe he's had interest from a couple of pro teams out that way and wants to be close to stay in contact with them. Lots of factors could be at play besides just money.

From everything I've heard it's totally about NIL.It's why he passed on Maryland even though they had his former coach on staff.

Could be. But we don't know. If it is all about money and NIL why is he even entertaining Nova? Unless, like everyone else, he's using them.

And at that point, serious questions should be asked about his character and if he's going to fit at UK.

He sounds like a locker room issue waiting to happen. The man was coached by Howard after all, who was perfectly ok with nearly hitting another coach.

I think he's a team chemistry Hindenburg waiting to happen.

Meh.It's about money for all the players now.You don't think Oscar returned because he loved the school so much do you?

Agree with bbncal2 100%. From what I know I would not think he would be a good fit at all! I saw
him against Vandy, and while that is only one game, he was terrible. Also I think he may be trouble
in the locker room as well.

So you want Ugo our starting center because Oscar is gone.Good luck with that.

Just think Dickinson is too slow for how we want to play. His style does not fit how we should play.
I am no expert but I think I would play Ugo over him. If he does decide to come here I hope it works out.
I have been wrong before and hope I am this time if he decides to be a cat

So he's basically lying when he said he loves UK and wants to one day return to Kentucky to live here?

Cheese and Crickets, and I thought I was jaded.

Not everybody every where is all about money.

Don't ***** at us. ***** at Cal.

You don't get a bad option (and I think Dickerson is not a great option here- doesn't mean he's a bad player); if Cal had done his damn job and tried to develop Ugo a bit over this past season, we wouldn't be in near the mess.

If it comes between Oscar and Cal? The fans will back Oscar; one cares about UK, the other is questionable these days.

No way Oscar wouldn't have returned without the money and I don't fault him at all for it.I'm loyal to my job as long as they pay me a good salary but if I found a better deal I would move on.

Is someone truly going to offer him a better deal in the pros? Maybe; but I just don't see it. I love my MATB; but he doesn't have much of an outside shot. NBA wants big men that can hit three's. That's not Oscar's game.

Everybody, everywhere--no.

20 somethings who rely on their basketball abilities to make a living--yes.

That's not bad or negative in any way. The reality is athletes have a very limited window to make money. NIL has expanded it for these young men. And if you can make a few million extra in your 20's--you need to do it.

You're not going to be 40 still making that kind of money. Some of these guys won't make millions once they leave college.

I saw this video clip….and it’s Goodman trying to publicly lobby him to go to Kansas. Self is Goodman’s friend and he is trying with whatever small level of influence he has to help his buddy out. NEVER expect objectivity when it comes to Bill Self and the college media. They LOVE that guy.

Point taken ….but I still think UK gives Hunter best chance for professional opportunities …which is the message they were trying to convey …Cal has lots of warts but creating pro opportunities for his players is not one .

He had 21 and 11 on 9/16 shooting. He had 3 turnovers, which I guess you could want that to be better, but it's not like he had 5.

What's "terrible" about that performance?

Why do you feel he's a bad fit? He's a legit 7 footer. He shot 40+% from 3 and 56% overall. He can bring his man away from the basket and leave the paint open for our guards/wings.

The part of the game I saw he seemed very slow and got beat time and time again on defense.
He played like his feet were in cement.
When I saw his interview, he did not come across well to me. Maybe it is just me
I think he would slow our offense down.
If he does come, hope it works out and he plays well, and I will be happy to wrong

Just another opinion, but HD knows how much they could offer before going there to visit. I know some Nova alums tied to the 76ers and they think there is a possibility, unfortunately.

This is a good point. His visit to UK doesn't come at a bad time, when Coach Cal and Co. can simply turn on TNT every night and see former UK players in the NBA playoffs, several with lofty deals and multiple years in the league.

There are rumours online that grant Nelson might enter the portal, he is a really good player, and I hope cal would reach out but I doubt it

No, no he is not. Just a dumb statement. There is no metric that shows Nelson is a better player than Dickinson.
I said talented, Nelson is far more talented than Dickinson, go watch him and you tell his talent translates. And just because I said something you don’t like doesn’t make it
stupid. Dickinson is good, but there’s a reason Nelson is on NBA teams radar, he is more talented than Dickinson

You might be right on Dickinson and style of play. But if UK was going to play like that wouldn't you think Bradshaw would be competing for the minutes at Center and not PF? Just my thought.

not sure Dickinson will have much of an NBA career
not much need for a plodding 7' guy even if he can shoot comewhat
NBA is about speed, quickness and shooting ability
I still see some big bruisers that come in for teams to rebound and play in the post from time to time. He would be a good backup at least IMO, odds are he won’t but ya never know as he does have talent and can shoot at his size.
