He would have to sit out a season.
He probably doesn’t since he entered the portal. Someone said they thought he might graduate and be a grad transfer. He has been in college for 3 years already. Not out of the ordinary for a kid to be ready to graduate after 3 years. But that’s pure speculation, on my part.

I don't think they have the NIL UK and Kansas do.
They also are a small private Catholic school……everybody knows large public universities have the best looking people and the best parties. Obviously professional basketball aspirations are more important but UK/KU are definitely a more fun lifestyle choice.

No Pilgrim made it clear that for Hunter it was totally a totally a business decision.Maryland has a coach he's close to who used to coach him but they didn't have high enough NIL so he dropped them.
It sounded like Cal told him his NIL might be higher than Oscar's because he wouldn't have the visa issue.

I guess, we gotta see how the nova visit goes first, I would still go Kansas as the favorite

Be leery of the Nova visit. They have killed it in the Portal IMO--TJ Bamba and Hakim Hart are great additions and Justin Moore being his best friend sure doesn't hurt their chances (teammates at DeMatha and with Team Takeover).
Wonder why. Figured they would flounder post Wright…

Latest we're hearing - Maryland. Combination of NIL and featuring him exclusively. Didn't see that coming.
What does "featuring him exclusively" even mean? He going to be a one-man band while playing the drum pedal with his foot, hooking a harmonica to his neck, and strumming the guitar while the other Maryland players dance in the background?

Is this a boy band tryout or a basketball team?

I know right? Like he’s not gonna be the featured Center who gets plenty of touches wherever he goes. Cal has a hell of a record with big Men and the NBA too. Not saying NIL won’t win out because it’s true but that’s what I’d buy over anything.

Every visit in program history "went well" except the infamous incident where Billy G kicked Wall out from observing practice during a visit.

There was another one i thought. We had two bigs visiting at the same time. Or someone got into it with a recruits family? i don’t remember. it’s been a few years.

It might have been someone that visited when Oscar did. Was that Vernon Carey maybe?

not sure Dickinson will have much of an NBA career
not much need for a plodding 7' guy even if he can shoot comewhat
NBA is about speed, quickness and shooting ability

I'm also seeing bits and pieces of Zags are now interested in him, and would really need him.

Who knows is basically the answer.

I wouldn't write him off. Nikola Jokic isn't about speed or quickness. He can shoot it. But, Dickinson has a good shot for a 7'0 guy...and he has good footwork. But, you are correct...Dickinson doesn't have speed and quickness.

Gonzaga already added Graham Ike in the portal. 6'9 250 lbs, averages 20 and 10. That twitter account that Dontworryboutit23 posted earlier looked fake. They seemed to have hidden a bunch of tweets and some that were still visible were like, 'hey girls, whats the best way to get a man' and speaking in foreign languages crap.

I never doubt you Ralph but I wouldn’t overlook the fact they missed the tournament last year. That was injury related but I would be leery of Neptune and his struggles so far.

Yeah, I didn't believe it per se. But there's no telling what's going on these days with all the shuffling.

I just don't have a good feeling about him coming here. And I'm oddly ok with that. Just don't want him to end up at KU.

Why would you be okay with it?He wouldn't have visited unless he had been told Oscar is gone so we are screwed if he goes elsewhere.

It was Oscar and Isaiah Stewart the same weekend.

Vernon Carey Jr's mother was a delusional jackass. How's that working out for her son? He's played 37 games total in the NBA and clinging on as roster fodder after being a 2nd Round pick (he should've stayed at Duke) because of his parents delusional take of his abilities.

Stewart can play/had NBA body since he's 15 and never will understand why Kentucky thought they could land him after ignoring him for far too long. That entire recruitment was odd.

It's his first year. It wasn't just an injury but to their best player Cam Whitmore a top 5 to 10 Lottery pick in a brutally tough conference. I really like how they've addressed some weaknesses in the Portal with Bamba and Hart. Neptune also brought back Baker Dunleavy who was on staff with Wright as well. Do I expect Neptune to be Jay Wright? No. But he's doing what is needed and Villanova has a history of being a very good program who plays with NBA concepts and has his best friend and longtime teammate there.

Guys don't take visits to Philadelphia for "fun" so he's obviously interested.

Because he doesn't seem like a great person. Arrogant; egotistical = chemistry issues. We already have enough of that brimming from Cal.

The nova visit is really interesting, it’s close to home for him, his best friend plays there and he could be a focal point

He's not going to Nova as they don't have the money to give. It's UK or Kansas.
Didn't say he's going there but as long as he takes that visit, they should be considered. Villanova has success, he's played against their system and lost in Sweet 16 game in '22 and then saw them go to another Final Four...and throw in they have connections to him and shooting around him.

Shooting around a big man matters. They'd also let him play face up 5 man and 5 out basketball at times as well.

I'm still laughing how he'd fit into the DDM offense that we're supposedly hearing Cal is saying he's going back to. Heard that every offseason when he's recruiting. That offense makes 0 sense with a big man like Dickinson too.

That sounds like tubby when he said every year we’re going to run more!
