I'd rather have Oscar back but just not having offense run through him. Good point was brought up on one of the shows I listen too...forget which, but nonetheless, go watch UK vs Duke (Oscar's first game)....that's how I want Oscar to get his points if he comes back.

Offense ran through him hardly ever if at all. He scored off rebounding and cleaning up. Give me that version of UK BB. Let the guards go to work.

I understand your point but what was the final score of that game? Big knock on Oscar from one potion of the fanbase is so what if Oscar gets 20/20 in an NCAA tourney game on average if the team loses.

So if Kentucky does this and still loses I guess it will be nice because then Oscar wouldn’t be to blame according to some.

I don't understand why you guys are trying to **** on HD for not wanting to come to UK, in his final college season, if Oscar is coming back.

Would you pull the trigger to go to UK if you had to compete against Oscar for minutes? No you wouldn't.

Hunter needs to go to a school where he will have the best chance to play big minutes at the 5. If Oscar comes back, UK doesn't fit that description.

As far as Oscar getting the blame for only winning one tournament game in 2 years, that’s just wrong. Yeah, his rim protection sucks, but are you guys thinking he's a net negative player? He’s a walking double double and I can't imagine there has been any games where he scored a negative efficiency number.

The bottom line is, our guards stunk badly the last 3 years. Yeah, Tyty and Wallace weren't 100%, but why does that mean Oscar should get the blame. He did his part, our guards and coach did not.

Did Ryan agree with anything Matt had to say today?
Ryan said he had never ate at the Buddha Lounge restaurant and then Matt said it is one of the untalked about gems for dining in Lexington Ryan said "It is one of the best secrets in town". My first thought was You just said you had never eaten there how would you know? 🤣

I’ll never understand blaming Oscar for any of the losses in the last two years. The TyTy team sucked when him and Grady were injured and last years team just mostly sucked in general. Oscar has been the only consistent positive since he came here.. if his PnR defense and inability to block a ton of shots are his weakness it’s up the to coach to make adjustments.

Are you implying RL is a suck up to Matt? No way that could be the truth?

Last year's team was doomed by the program promoting it as Oscar University instead of Kentucky. I get they were trying to get fans excited after a rotten end to the season but that was delusional and ignorant. That's NOT on the player, team, etc..it's on Cal and the Athletic Department.

You DO NOT push a former POY out. You lay out the entire situation HONESTLY to him and respectfully tell him you need a decision ASAP. If that means you ultimately end up losing out on both then, you then fall back to plan B or whatever you were planning before Dickinson ever entered the picture and you expected Oscar to leave.
Oscar's jersey will most likely hang in the rafters someday as a former national POY at UK. You don't kick him out of the program.

People keep talking about Oscar being a double-double machine, but I don't think they know why that is. It's not all positive, either. Oscar does not play defense, so that automatically means it's 5-on-4 everytime he's in the game. He also doesn't faciliate for the rest of the team, does not participate in running plays. So if you're an intelligent coach and you know that your opponent has decent three point shooters (Frederick, Reeves, Wallace, even Toppin), then you run 5-on-4 against those guys and let Oscar get his meager two's. Oscar got so many rebounds because he surrounded by guys being forced to throw up prayers, and because he was always abandoning the offense and positioning himself for boards. People need to look at the complete picture. This upcoming season he's to change a lot of things or he'll end up handcuffing the team worse than he did last season. I'd like to think Cal is aware of this.

If true about Dickinson, it's just like always, you have a player saying they will come here IF so and so don't or if somebody leaves. Then at schools like Duke, 5 star players will be willing to sit the bench for 6 years if other 5 star players are talking about going there too, but at Kentucky, hell no, they are not coming if they can't start. Bunch of BS babies is what it is and has been for a long time.

Duke was and may still be interested in Dickinson. He is telling them the same thing I'm sure and did you not see they just lost a McDonald's AA recruit because a 5 star player returned? Big business in CFB/CBB is what it is--Player's First and program 2nd.

Grady and reeves going 2 for 30 from 3 or whatever is was in 2 tournament games should not be held against Oscar. He practically dragged Kentucky in all 3 of his tourney games

Yes and he makes sense for them and what they need/lack on their team right now with Sacha Killeya Lively off the NBA. I don't even think the guy is in the Portal yet either. LOL

Why are we only hearing about big men? Haven’t we learned our lesson that having 2 or 3 healthy guards and a **** ton of bigs does not work?
We don’t have a **** ton of bigs and the ones we have aren’t that good. Ware is not very good at all and Collins has long way to go to be good. Bradshaw is a freshman and I am not aware of any other bigs. I would tell Oscar you need a decision within a week and tell Hunter he is in. Then u get the 6’9 guy from UT and develop some quality depth on the front line. Ware should only play in blowouts. If Collins leaves u get another forward too. You must have depth to protect from injuries and foul trouble.

Ever time I see Oscar take a rebound and slam a dribble I want to puke. Keep that ball up high or it’s a strip. Guy has crazy strong hands for a board, but get stripped easier than Katrina at Minardi Hall.
I don't know if he has wrong teaching, or is just not receptive to good teaching. Maybe he has issues with his vertical and feels he needs to squat to the ground in order to reach the rim?

It's not like we're a PROGRAM FIRST oriented place anyway.

I just don't think he is the issue. Honestly the same could be said for Dickinson. He has probably been surrounded by more talent than Oscar has the past two seasons.
