Love Huggins. Used to love the way he and Calipari told the establishment jacks to kiss their ***.
Huggy bear stayed true, Calipari became what they hated.

Still say that although it probably wasn’t a fit, I think Huggins could have done okay here.
I think he's a really good human being. I've watched specials on the fly fishing for a cure fund raisers for cancer research that he does. He raises tons of money for it.
Went to the NCAA tournament game in Columbus where we lost to UAB. Cincinnati was also there and we were staying at the same hotel. Games were Friday/Sunday so we went out Saturday night about 5:00. He was sitting at the bar drinking wine. Came back around 1 and he hadn't moved an inch.
Calipari sucks and it’s not just results on the court. He’s tarnished what this program stands for and doesn’t protect it at all. I’d take Bob Huggins 100% of the time over Calipari today. Hands down no questions asked not a hard decision.
If I’m going to be mediocre and get mediocre results I’d rather do it with a guy that gives a **** and actually has respect for the game and for the program he works for.

Always loved Huggs. Always pull for WVU, and it's all because I repect the man.
Bob wasn't even as good as Tubby. Cal yes turned our program from the greatest to now 2-3 greatest history all time, but the guy is a rock star.

Nah. Not even close. Way better then tubby and sustained success well beyond Tubby.
I'll always say Tubby was the most underrated coach in college basketball history.
I have a friend who is a huge WVU fan and he says most WVU fans would like to see Huggy hang it up. Kind of like the situation here, with a difference being they aren't as vocal.
There's a cool part in the documentary where Bob Huggins talks about how they pumped the final four via radio through pipes into the coal mines so the guys could hear the game against Duke.
Keeping your players out of jail after they got in to a bar fight and one of the players stole over $1000 dollars out of the till while the teammates are fighting will get you a lot of loyalty from players.

WTH I liked a post. You put way too much energy into this lol. Tubby was very underappreciated, and since I have your attention, Huggins program at UC was out of control. Player arrests, probation, DUI, abysmal graduation rate. Give me Tubby over that crap any day. There's a reason Huggy Bear peaked at UC . You'd been the first leading the Faaar Bob cheers if he had came here
Tubby was one of the most overhyped, slobbered-over coaches in the history of the game from a media standpoint.
His lone title with Pitino's experienced players bought him an additional 9 years that equated to zero additional Final Fours.
Our fans were more than patient with him and gave him more than enough appreciation until it was clear he was in over his head in terms of recruiting and finding quality assistant coaches.
Huggie has had double digit losses in 15 of the last 20 seasons including the last 6 in a row.
Despire his recent deficiencies, Cal is a better coach than Huggins and runs a much more respected program. It was embarrassing what went on in his UC years.

Not sure you want to do that. Calipari is known as the Slime ball of the ncaa for a reason. Worst reputation in college basketball. Has been for years.

His Memphis problems were extreme.
No mistake. Those who live in the Cincy area know what I'm talking about. Lots of dirt swept under the rugs.
Plus Huggy made 1 final 4 in over 40 years of coaching, and no rings.
