Well if you’re ranked top 20 you’re taking the risk on dealing with a guy that is hell bent on getting straight to the league . It is what it is .
That's why it has become a Cal problem!!!

Cal has to be PERFECT on WHO he offers!!! If the recruit is NOT up to the level NEEDED to win BIG at UK, Cal, UK AND the fanbase are SCREWED!!!!!

Cal is getting paid $9 million/ year to win games at UK 1st and foremost!!! The days of his BS Line about being "Players First" has gotten our program NOTHING over the last 3 seasons!!!

Time for a retooling of his method!!!

I'm not surprised about Livingston - just because that's kind of been the buzz around him the whole time, but that doesn't make it any less crazy. Last 5 games, he averaged almost 35 minutes per game. Anybody wanna guess his stats during that? 6ppg (32% FG / 15% 3P / 25% FT) and 1 assist. I won't mention the rebounds since he's not interested in playing by the basket.

(Not butthurt, it just never ceases to amaze me when this happens every year)

Well obviously that’s not changing unless Cal is gone .

Honestly it’s not Cals fault, it’s the people around Livingston. Kluth sports has some pull and I’m sure they think he’s a first round pick and do not want him to return.
Sure it is

1. Anyone could see Livingston was not a college Sf and better suited as PF
2. Livingston was always a multi year player. Lack of ball handling and shooting was always going to be his best path to pros to be multiple years
3. Once it becomes clear his handlers and Chris were dead set on Sf or bust…cal should have bailed and gotten with other wing players. Same could see the EJ Montgomery situation panning out as well. Same wjtb quade green

But instead Cal hitched up to ranked kids on paper selling his NBA or bust concept and it’s a losing strategy…and he can t get off the train

And in the process he’s wrecked this program

The kids like Livingston in the 20-45 range who all think they are way better than they are, have been the ones that have caused Kentucky problems or hurt the roster the following year. Imagine early on if cal and the staff prioritized miller over Livingston or went and got one of the many good options in the portal. The only people who think Livingston is ready for the NBA are his camp which is clutch backed

My whole point is that the days of getting an Anthony Davis, MKG, Randle, Willie, KAT, Wall, Boogie, Fox, Monk, Bam, Herro's OR the kids that ACTUALLY were good enough to CARRY UK to a Final 4 and beyond have DWINDLED away. That is DIRECTLY on Cal.

Cal's "Players First" program USED TO BE the player giving his ALL during the season to do EVERYTHING in their power to win BIG, THEN after the season was over Cal AND UK doing EVERYTHING in their power to HELP the kid with his FUTURE. The UK PART of this DEAL has been EXTREMELY shortchanged the past few seasons, YET Cal is STILL making a FORTUNE!!!!

WHY does Cal take these kids that have NO desire to win at the college level??!!! There are PLENTY of kids in the top 25 that DO!!!!!

His numbers are easy to replace in the portal but it's such a joke that this crap keeps happening.

Yep, just move on at this point.

Go get a dude in the portal who wants 30MPG at the greatest program of all time and make 200K in NIL.

Livingston can have fun making 50K in the G-League and be playing in Croatia in a few years.

So we lose Livingston who will get drafted in the second round if he gets drafted at all.

We retain a streaky shooter who isn’t good enough to go pro and who ***** his pants nearly every time we play good teams.

And Collins, who also will never play in the league, moves to be closer to family.
Collins is gone period

Sure. That is why Cal has the top recruiting class coming in next year.

Which is NO guarantee that UK will win any more games next season than we have the past 3. Then even if we DON'T win ANYTHING of substance( Champions Classic, CBS Classic, SEC, SEC Tourn, NCAA Final 4) those same kids in that "top recruiting class" will be GONE and Cal will STILL offer up LAME excuses as the why.

The recruits and their ENTOURAGES OWN Cal now!!!

Poor roster construction and players leaving who have no business leaving early, crap was a bad way to put, that is being ridiculous on my end, but this system and situation cal has created with roster turnover with players who aren’t ready for the league is hurting Kentucky
How come many other teams have the same problem with turnover? Puff Johnson leaving UNC and not even a starter.

Nowadays, It’s not necessarily the coaches fault that players think ( and mostly their ‘handlers’ ) believe they can get in the pros quick , leave for the draft when they should stay in college theoretically …or transfer somewhere that may use them at a position they’d likely be in the NBA. It’s how we got Oscar ….Huggins didn’t want him as a log jam at the 5 , he wanted him at the 4 , etc . Livingston isn’t a 3 on a good team in college

A player that didn’t start on a team who didn’t make the tournament and a player who can name their minutes and position on a team doesn’t seem like a good comparison.

It’s CALs fault for playing him At the 3 sheen everybody knew he should be a 4, overall the roster build up is all on cal, he gets brunt by not having enough players and injuries a lot

It’s happening more now, but unc also gets back and Davis back and probably Caleb love, Kentucky doesn’t get those types of guys back, other teams lose players like puff Johnson, if Kentucky could consistently get guys like Livingston back they would have less issues transitioning into the starts of new seasons

No not all kids ranked 20-45 are this delusional

Nolan Hickman with zags, Jon aidoo with Tennessee, hunter sallis with zags, I could go on and one…there are plenty of kids staying years. Cal is a terrible salesman and his hoax is up

That and he tries to cater to these kids to much, Livingston should know he is a college four so should his camp, cal has to stop letting these camps pressure him into ****. Also the guys you mentioned are going to cultures where they are encouraged to come back, cal never does that

Sure they did, but the guys like Livingston who aren’t getting drafted unless a favorite is being done, are the ones hurting Kentucky. Kentucky gets guys like him back and they can seriously challenge with other pieces around them, guys like toppin and Oscar we’re never going to make it in the league
