What are you guys asking family to get you for Christmas? New gadgets we all need to know about? Cool MSU gear or apparel? Specialty booz? Hunting/Fishing toys? Things that go bang? Grilling equipment?

Football is over for a short while and basketball is in the pre-conference stage. I figure this is as good a time as any for an OT thread. Also, I may see something here that will give me time to change my suggestions to the wife.

1. Bow tuning / arrow making equipment - asked for a square, fletching jig, fletchings, serving tool, etc.

2. MEATER - new totally wireless meat thermometer (since it was a kickstarter product, the receipt that it has been ordered was enough for me)

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/...free-smart-meat-thermometer-food-technology#/

3. Replace my busted *** old man house slippers

4. New vacuum sealer

5. $ to help pay for the rest of my deer mount for the buck I killed with my bow in November.

I've asked Santa for the classic nes system

I went to toys r us this morning for this . Got there at 6 am and the line had about 150 people in it. Kept on driving by. My original nes still works so I'll have to break it out until demand lessens

How big was the deer?

Spot and stalked a 152 with my bow in a pasture in Kansas. He's not my biggest buck but he is with my bow and he is super unique. 14 scoreable points, multiple beams on one side, etc.

New Chef knife, MacBook air before they are gone, some more kitchen gadgets, new cast iron griddle to work on, a new 8 or 10 TB internal hard drive for all of my files to be on in an old MacPro, a top-shelf bottle of bourbon and vodka and smiles on the faces of my family.

A gun has always been the proper way for my wife to express her love and admiration on festive occasions but after a water leak that forced me to unload and move my gun safe, I had to finally admit that I had a problem. I ordered some clear vinyl curtains from Mosquito Curtains to go around my gazebo and told her she could wrap them. A Benchmade knife or a vacume packer would make a nice stocking stuffer.

Pics or it didn't happen, lol. I been hunting a hoss the last couple weeks but the bastard is elusive. They should start chasing 100% anytime now.

How did your wife hand you the gun ... handle first ... or barrel first?

Santa is bringing "my kids" a custom built golf cart to cruise the 'hood with a Bluetooth sound system, bench seat on the back, traffic package (blinker, lights, horn), and 14" wheels. "My kids" will also get a lot of use out of it at the games next year. Santa is bringing me a trailer to haul it around for "the kids".

Still can't believe that Santa talked my wife into it...

i asked for a franchi instinct, but I'm not keeping my hopes up. Friend of mine owns a gun/archery/hunting/fishing store and I told my wife to ask him.

Nothing special. Woodford Reserve and a gift certificate to the cigar shop or local purveyor of powder and bullets usually gets me through the season. I did drop a hint for a new flask and some atv accessories.

You know who has great cigars? The Smoke Stack in West Point, MS. 8 miles til you smell it, 7 til you see it.*

Which WWII enemy are you going with?

Or you could get in the lottery for this guy: http://kramerknives.com/

You've got to get into a lottery to get a custom knife. He does hold auctions occasionally if you're ready to put down $30k. Even Anthony Bourdain didn't get one until last year. It's made from a meteorite.

/These are not the Kramer by Zwilling licensed design ones obviously, though I've heard those are really good knives.

You were able to sneak across a pasture and get close enough to a 152" deer to shoot it with your bow? Jesus......I tip my hat to you. Hell, I would be impressed if you had done that to a doe. If I shot a 152" deer with my rifle at 100 yards while it was standing over a pile of corn, I'd burn 2 tanks of gas driving around town showing him off.

I hate to be the buzzkill but I heard they were doing away with the golf carts on campus next year.

Hunt of a lifetime. I'll never top it and don't care that I won't. I just wish I had it on film.

That would suck, but I'll be surprised if they can pull that off - would be lots of pissed off people.

If they do, though, so be it. My kids will get lots of use on it. Where I live on the coast has tons of them that the neighborhood kids ride around on. And that was even before the State officially legalized them last year.

I heard same thing wooz, several accidents this year got them to thinking about liability. If they just enforced everything they said they were going to (can't use on closed streets or sidewalks, must be street legal, etc) it would help but they don't. Campus cop told our tailgating crew the athletic dept is the biggest abuser, none of theirs are legal and they don't want the expense or upkeep of making them legal. If they made you display a Certificate of Insurance naming the University as the insured from Aug-Nov on campus, seems like that would limit their liability.

These look great, I looked at the indiegogo site; and have a question.

What is the App called on ios? I searched on the Apple App Store and couldn't find it. Wanted to see how it was working for those that are using it.

Any idea what the App is called?

Thanks!
