Unfortunately we have the same ole stale cal and all the same BS he brings to a new season so it’s just more rinse and repeat for the fanbase.

I don't expect anything but pissed offness.

But man, some of these guys need to take a break from the ole PC/tablet/phones. And, it's fun to make fun of. We are some of the easiest fans to mock and laugh at. I even find myself laughing at my own pissed offness and then say "WTF am I doing?!? I have a family, a life, I don't need to obsess over kids playing a game!"

And then I laugh and go about my day.

No disrespect meant, but I don’t put any stock in statements like: “Cal needs a top 5 pick”; “Cal needs recruits ranked in the top 5”; or “Cal needs”…… whatever. Those statements honestly seem nonsensical and like over simplified conventional wisdom to me. Couldn’t we say the same about any coach. They would all do much better with better players – and I don’t think Calipari is uniquely better in regard to any type of player. I think the simple truth of it is better players make for better results, regardless of whatever category or type of player you want to talk about.

If there is one area, I think Calipari may be better than most based on what I’ve seen, it is with getting freshmen to buy-in to a team concept, play harder than they’re used to (particularly on defense), and get better by the end of the season. I still think it’s a mistake (and unnecessary at a top program) to try to win relying on freshmen to carry the team, but I still haven’t seen anyone do a better job with that kind of team (although, again, I wish UK would not try to build a roster reliant on freshmen).

I think there's a pretty good chance one of those guys winds up being top5, and probably another one a lottery pick. I think that's a pretty fair guess.. not too optimistic or pessimistic. Is that enough for Cal to win a Final4? I think it could be.

That does seem to be the difference maker.. if Cal has that guy that most teams can't contain, he can win games. If he doesn't have that guy, then coaches can beat his simplistic coaching style.

Taking it a step further.. I think Cal really needs TWO Elite guys.. For the past few seasons, we think we have our guy at SF, like Keldon.. but then we don't have a great PG to go with him. Or this year, we have Cason as our elite PG.. but he has no one great to distribute to. We have Oscar for two years, but there's not enough talent at the rest of the positions (when healthy) so defenses literally throw 2, 3 or even 4 guys at Oscar.

When you had Wall, you also had Cousins. Fox with Bam. MKG and AD. Booker and KAT... It really needs to be two guys for Cal, not just one.

But thankfully, we have 3 elite prospects coming in and if we can get 2 of them to play elite, we might be able to make this work. If Bradshaw struggles, we still could have great PG/Wing play with DJ/Edwards.
