Like, you don't want him to play at all???

Wallace can't play 2 games in 3 days at 37-40 minutes each game.

I get it, Wheeler should never be a starting pg, but at 10mpg, he would be a huge lift, especially against teams that don't know much about him.

He hasn’t played in over a month. And you know Cal will play him way more than he should. I’d rather ride with who we’ve got

Well, I don't think Wheeler will be in shape enough to play more than a couple minutes here and there.
Exactly. Rusty, out of shape and Cal even said he’s not sure if he’s 100%. Just don’t think it’s worth the risk. But if I’m wrong and he plays, I will root for him hard

I'm not sure why you guys think Reeves can't handle the point??? he has a good handle and is deadly on pick n roll

Even though he can, he doesn't have the legs at this point. Cal already nearly used him up and we saw him go cold in the sec tournament probably due to no legs.

Wheeler is definitely a plus as long as cal uses him in a reserve role.

How have we gone from "Wheeler plays too much" to "he shouldn't ever see the floor"?

It's like a few people planted the "I hate Wheeler and he's not UK material and should never see our uniform" seed, and a handful ran with it.

We need him in small spurts to give breathers. We don't need him in long stretches - that's when he's a liability.

Wheeler will start IMO, and any chemistry this team had at one point will be challenged. But he will get the ball to Oscar, so there's that. As long as he's not in mid-air doing it.

He won’t start. That would mean benching Reeves or Livingston and I don’t see Cal doing that against this physical Providence team.

UK can win a game in the tourn w/o Wheeler. BUT, if UK has any chance of stringing together some wins they will need Wheeler.

Wallace will eventually get in foul trouble or get dinged up. (That’s the nature of b-ball, and law of avgs over a few games.) Even with no foul trouble, Cason and Reeves needs 3-5 mins rest per half.

Wheeler just needs to provide 4-6 mins a half for us to have our best rotation and distribution of mins. This is perfect scenario, and anyone who’s watched b-ball knows a team never gets their perfect scenario every game.

Thiero cannot play PG. Too much tape available now and teams will attack him and turn him over as SEC teams started doing.

Wheeler is most helpful to UK at 10-12 mins a game. However, those 10-12 mins are critical for any kind of run. They give Wallace a break. It allows Wallace to play off the ball while Cal give Reeves a breather.

This should have been his role after Dec, but I think Wheeler brings a spark off the bench and is perfect for this spot.

Agree. If he only plays 10-12 mins, then I think that's fine. Wallace needs a breather here and there.

Kyle dropped a lot of hints about Wheeler playing tonight. Can tell he’s getting the push from Cal to pump Wheeler up.

Makes me even more nervous for tonight. Hope he doesn’t play
Great… if Cal forces him in after being rusty and out of shape we are doomed. If he spells Wallace for 10 minutes then it could work. If he’s out of control or lost he better get pulled quick.

I would say, as long as Wheeler is <15min (prefer 10), AND he is not in at crunch time (if game is close), then I think he can & will contribute, because as said above, you have to give Wallace some rest to get his best.

The one game even I was screaming at my tv when we were trying to hang on for the win at the FT line, and Cal had Wheeler, Ware, Toppin, Wallace (when he was still struggling at the line) and I think maybe Reeves in there due to a couple guys fouling out or injured. And the best of those (Reeves) at the line was in-bounding the ball so would not be who got fouled. I was like put in Livingston and Theiro for Wheeler and Ware.
Wheeler can't be trusted at the FT line, especially in a tight game.

I don't see him starting. Hasn't played until late Feb. I do think he should play some minutes to give Cason a spell.

Wallace's handles are shaky- especially with pressure ,which we will see especially late in games if we have a lead.
Gonna need Wheeler for some stress relief imo the further you advance, if for nothing else a psychological boost.

SW can be sparkplug for this team and is key for a deep run. Freshman in his first tournament gives me anxiety.

Last night I talked to my friend who went to the SECT. He said Wallace looked way more injured in person than on TV. During play he was moving around ok, but during time outs and walking in and out of the locker room he was noticeably favoring the leg he hurt a couple of weeks ago.

Wallace won't make it playing 36+ mins/gm. We need Wheeler to make any kind of run.

It's pretty simple let his play determine how many minutes he gets. He does bring speed to our game and if he can be play under control as a assist man, open layup maker and can guard his man he can be a real asset. The big thing is can Cal figure out if he's helping or hurting and give minutes accordingly.

We were 1-2 against Vandy. One thing was different in the game we won. Anyone know?

The only other viable option would be Toppin playing some point forward

If Wallace needs a rest then play anyone but Wheeler.

If Wheeler plays then Wallace will have plenty of time to rest.

I am afraid Cal will play him.
