I’ve seen them play a couple of times this year…they’re a solid NCAA team that could pull an upset this year.
They lost their starting frontline to Duke and UNC and I think could give them both a hell of game.

College basketball is so weak now. Just makes UK being a non-factor that much more painful.

Purdue has a problem with their guards. They are not good at all. Edey is all they have.
This year Rutgers and Northwestern has beat IU and Purdue. The NCAA tournament should be crazy with upsets. I know I’m upset that my team won’t be playing in it.
Lot of regular season #1s don't win the tourney.

My life experience as a CBB fan has some simple rules to follow regarding the Big 10:
1. If Purdue is their best team, the league sucks.
2. Purdue will peak in January in said years
3. Purdue gets more attention/hype from media, they start wilting.
4. Purdue will disappoint in March. Lone exceptions were 1980 Final Four with Lee Rose as their HC, the '94 NCAA Tournament where they lost to Duke in Elite 8 and '19 when they lost to UVA in Elite 8 game they should've won had they simply rebounded the ball when UVA had to miss a FT for a chance to tie after Boilers fouled up 3.
Know they also made an Elite 8 in '00 when losing to Wisconsin but I omit anything Bennett family related or the Brian Cardinal era at Purdue from memory due to extreme boredom. As a tribute to the late Billy Packer, I'll never forget him blasting Dick Bennett's Badger team in the Final Four semifinal for their boring style of play in the loss to Michigan State's eventual championship team and last Big 10 Champion.
Await another 9-10 teams getting gifted into the NCAA Tournament from this boring league and falling short again as the Midwestern homer media and BTN sit back stunned at the failures that continue on a basis that should limit the participants from that conference.
And this is precisely why Cal thinks the Cats can go on a run if they make the tourney. He continually thinks losing all these games and sneaking into the tourney isn't a big deal.
To him, it's like seeding doesn't matter. Just get in, and he thinks the Cats can beat anybody. Such flawed logic, and so frustrating.
