This 4 star from WI suppose to be just about the best shooter in the 24 class and does not list WI as one of his top choices. ND is one but Brey is quitting. He is a four star and the type of player we should be going after hard. Guys that are fundamentally sound and the way we struggle with shooting year after year this is the typical type of recruit our coaches should know about and make a priority. Need a good solid core that will be here a while and if you want to get a couple of 5 stars that ARE fundamentally sound to go with them that would be the idea scenario for having a good roster year after year.

CJ Fredrick could technically still be here in 24/25 if he applies for a medical waiver for last year. Also we would have a sophomore Reed Sheppard. Travis Perry is a pretty good four-star shooter from that class too.

The way we struggle finding real shooters, you would think that Perry would be an extremely high priority because from what I have read he is legit at shooting the ball. Perry and KK would be a great early start to the class, knowing you are getting two of the very best shooters coming out of high school. Perry at the two and KK at the three and if they could get a guy like Johnson to go with them.

Frankly I'd rather have 6-6 Tre Johnson, the #1 player and SG in the class. Had 39 points as a sophomore playing against Cason Wallace, and you know how good a defender Wallace is.
He’s the ESPN #1 now.

why couldn't Knuepple and Perry play alongside Johnson?
Johnson will be 1 and done & these 2 could add needed shooting depth
If we could get our roster half full with players like Knuepple and Perry every season then we would always have sound fundamental players that are here a few years maybe. Couple of guards like that with a couple of tall bigs with good upside. But they need to be good shooters, scorers and have good basketball sense.

Id bet money Perry goes to Purdue. He fits like a glove their SADLY!

Purdue's Painter at Lyon County again tonight watching Perry drop 31, 6 steals, numerous assists. Sure would hate to see this guy get away. Perry and Sheppard in the backcourt would be an awesome duo. Go Cats

The good thing about the 2024 class is that it’s still real early for that class. They’ll most definitely be some guys that mature later and climb the rankings quickly. Some will come out of nowhere. Happens with every class.

Matter of fact, I look for there to be a few guards that are kinda out of the picture, end up being better than Ian Jackson. Plus, that kid struggles shooting the basketball. We NEED guys that can actually shoot the ball and make the ball. IMHO, Jackson wasn’t some huge loss. They’ll be better players emerge.

A lot of people wanted UK to sign Brandin Podzemski out of WI.
Averaged 1.4 as a Fr. at Illinios
Transfered to Santa Clara and is avg. 20ppg.
Players are unpredictable.

I agree there will be some late risers but Jackson is a big loss, we can still get a great class though.

Imo, depends if Jackson is dead set on reclassifying. We honestly don’t need him much for next year. Would have been great for 2024 though.

The problem is the coach doesn't value shooting the ball.

What a world it would be if Cal had any foresight into consistent roster construction. Unfortunately that is not his reality.

Did you watch the game with Jackson vs Justin Edwards? Edwards ate Jackson's lunch. Jackson was very mediocre and wanted to stand around the perimeter, I would of liked to had him but he isn't a huge loss IMO.
Edwards did play good and that’s something to get excited about, jackson is a big loss, one bad game is normal, jackson was the best player for team USA by a good margin, jackson Will be a big loss for Kentucky

I don't want to sound like a Kentucky fan that can't be satisfied but I don't want him in the second "k" or "n" is silent...

Evidently Mizzou is on him hard too. If I was currently coming out of HS I’d love to play in an up and down system w freedom to let it fly

Yeah but that’s one game I’m not gonna say he’s overrated or sucks for one game.

It depends on whether he reclasses or not, if he does, he couldn't break the starting lineup of Wagner, Edwards and Reed. I know you think I'm crazy saying Reed but just watch. Oh and we also have Dilly and not even considering any transfers.

If he reclassed reed is the one left out, but Kentucky didn’t have the room for him to reclass as somebody was going to be unhappy, UNC did and is probably what they sold him on

It's probably just the way Overtime Elite plays, but Dillingham hasn't been very impressive there. I can't see Reed start over him, but Fredrick has started nearly half of our games thus far as has Livingston, and Reeves has shown a lot too. If any of them come back, it would be very crowded.

Regardless, Knuepple is a 2024 guy and wouldn't play much, imo, as a freshman. Based on where we are right now, my guess is we get Sheppard, Thiero, and Onyenso back for 2024/25, maybe Ware, Livingston, or Fredrick too. Calipari will likely get Knox at a minimum. Hard to see Knuepple getting much PT with Shep/Knox/Thiero plus any other returnees or recruits.
