I’ve been watching how he reacts tonight while on the bench. He doesn’t seem happy about not getting any playing time the second half and is hardly cheering on his teammates that are on the court.
When Oscar was shooting free throws late he was shaking his head out of frustration

Noticed the same thing.

It’s his birthday. I imagine it sucks realizing that you’ve been relegated to being a 10mpg guy on your birthday.
Never will forget a client treating me like absolute crap on my birthday at my old job. Dude was just having a bad day but man, just kinda sucks when you’re trying to be positive on the one day a year you get to tout yourself a bit and the role goes to crap on you.

Just a sucky feeling. Especially when you’re that young.

He’s a good dude. Just has to realize he has to work that much harder now.

What did you expect from someone who was handed the starting spot and kept it for half a season and a half without deserving it…

I've defended Wheeler all season but he should have been benched the way he was playing. He made a couple good plays shortly after coming in but then he turned it over and gave up easy shots. If I were Cal, I would have done exactly the same. And once the other guys proved themselves, the rhythm of the game dictated Wheeler stay right where he was.

Wallace's defense in the 2nd half was absolutely essential on Roberts, and he was sensational. You can't take him out. It wasn't Wheeler's game. I hate it for him with it being his birthday and being his former team, but that's life sometimes.

I’m 32 and I still dont understand why people think their birthday is so special. If it wasn’t for people telling me happy birthday I’d never know it was actually the day.

It's his birthday playing his old team, I'm sure he wanted to play a bigger role in us winning. He's human, we would need a moment to adjust as well. Roles are being defined on this team, his job is to accept his new role and to find a way to help the team win.

Probably feeling down, we clicked when he went out, when he was in he started okay and then started making tons of mistakes and defensive lapses.

I mean I don’t celebrate it much at all. But it’s still nice to treat yourself a bit, get some ice cream or but that book you’ve wanted.

The last thing you want is a ****** day on it though. And Wheeler had a pretty ****** day.

Get better. Watch film. Go to the gym.

He looked about the same as everyone else on the bench. The kid is just not good this year, not with this team.

The best he can do for this team the rest of the year is get some pom-poms and cheer his teammates on
I disagree there. I think there are times when he can come in and be a big spark plug off the bench. It should have been his role all along. I hate it for the kid, but I blame it on Cal for giving him as much time as he was getting.
