We gotta get stops to lead to our points in the second. I want us at the free throw line a lot and get put backs. 3 steals and 4 threes in the second half and we may win.

You just saw the problem summed in 10 seconds of that half time “interview”

Cal never thinks we need to do anything different, just start guarding (like they are t already trying to) and making shots (like they aren’t already trying to).

Follow up question…”but coach what if they still can’t do that?”

Cal…”don’t know what to tell you, try harder”.
The main problem is Wheeler. His defensive positioning is freaking terrible. Yet people say he is “icing screens” or “forcing his man to one side”. ********. His footwork is so bad and he hops. He just gets blown by giving up straight drive after straight line drive and putting the others in bad positions.

Why don’t we cut to the basket when the ball goes inside, the are all over us on the 3 point line and we just stand and watch Oscar and hope for the best.

Look at the zone offense. Georgia is so spread out in the zone the logo is wide open. Toppin shoots like he is scared there. Why not run Livingston or Fredrick there.

As far as Cal playing a zone, I think there will be a Four Horseman sighting first.
they not gonna be no Rick Flare walking through that door

At least Texas is about to lose (hope I dont jinx it). We need them to lose a bunch like us to have them even thinking about taking coach clown off our hands.

Cal going to get a T in thi
I’m amazed people thought our offense was good on Saturday .

Hell I was told we won so I still shouldn’t be concerned about the offense

I had to turn the Cal radio show off this week; I tried listening, but didn’t make it past the first segment. He kept trying to spin it like our play was sooo much better. Granted they had a lot more fight, which is awesome, but scoring sixty something points isn’t my idea of stellar offensive execution.

The problem is if you can beat Tennessee at Tennessee. This should be a 20 point game. The fact is the players just aren't trying. They think they need to get up to play Kansas and Tennessee, but they don't have to play hard against these other schools.

Can we play the lineup that dominated Tennessee 29-14 ? can we play that lineup that in 45 possessions is the best in all of college basketball ?

We thought Cal fell into something and would be forced to use it but nope he is so freaking stubborn he will not use the lineup that has dominated teams all year for us.

It is borderline inexcusable and we will hear from all over the talk shows about how Cal would not play the best lineup we have.

So they weren't up against UCLA or Michigan St. Or Gonzaga?

Reeves not good enough to be a go to scorer. Fredrick not good enough to be much more than a spot up shooter who needs room. Wallace not good enough as a ball-handler yet to put pressure on the defense with drives. The PFs are not good enough to be any more than the 5th option on the floor. But that’s what UK has offensively to go with Tsheibwe. This is a seriously flawed team offensively; with a healthy Wallace likely the only multi-dimensional player they have – and he’s not ready to carry the load.

Yeah with how bad Wheeler AND Wallace have been, maybe we need to roll with size to help alter shots inside the arch.

That’s my point. Regardless of WHO can or can’t do what, it’s up to the coach to coach around that. Instead we stand there doing the same thing hiring something will magically change instead of making adjustments to help

And that's the whole point right.
The UT game was one data point.

Everything else points to us being largely uncompetitive against good teams.

It's not to say we can't turn it around........just we haven't quite yet.

56% to 33%. This is a statement on our lack of defense. Shot chart would be interesting. They are getting all the way into the paint for nearly uncontested shots.
You are right. The shot chart shows Georgia took almost no mid-range jumpers -- all drives underneath and 3 pointers.
