Been checking the UCA website. As far as I can tell, they did not place in the GameDay competition, which is not a good sign. Dance Team placed 5th in Game Day. Just wondered if anyone know how their routine looked.
The cheer program has been extremely disappointed after the coaching change. I’m not sure why they hired outside the UK Cheer family when your program had won 24 national titles and over 2/3rds of the total ti times possible.

One person: Mitch Barney. Guy doesn't seem to get it.
To be fair, the current coach, Ryan Martin O'Connor, cheered at UK for 1 or 2 years and then transferred and cheered at Alabama. Her mother is Lexington Paul Lawrence Dunbar Cheer Coach, that has won high school cheer championships. They just recently hired an assistant coach that cheered at UK and won 4 or 5 national championships in a row when UK Cheer was really good. Don't know why this current coaching staff is not succeeding? Fingers crossed they make the finals and can compete tomorrow.
Yes, and I don’t understand why we would hire someone that felt the need to leave UK and transfer to Bama… There had to be some really talented Cheer coaches out there that actually stayed and graduated from UK….
Saw an interview she had when she was hired. Paraphrasing here, she did not think she would ever be able to be on competition squad. Fair enough. I wasn’t aware of her entire history. Just where she graduated so I guess that makes more sense. Thanks for the correction
They suck now. Another Joker, BCG, Elzy hire for Mitch. I was at the LSU game and I told my son “the cheerleaders look like crap.” And I’m a guy who doesn’t pay much attention to that kind of thing. But it was obvious to me they aren’t up to par for a UK squad.
That is correct. Finals will be today. #1 Western Kentucky, #2 Alabama, #3 Kentucky. So, Coach Ryan Martin O'Connor, cheered at UK 1 year, transferred and cheered at Alabama, coached at Ole Miss, coached at Western Kentucky, and is now the coach at UK.
This is ridiculous, she needs to be held accountable. Send her *** back to Oxford. Sick of this crap.
Let's see how they do today. If Western and Alabama have mistakes, UK could win. Of course, UK cannot have any mistakes.
They need to start letting em go back on those lake getaways with all the booze and skinny dippin. Was winnin then.
