Just calling it how I see it. I'm fair and get this, I don't want to hate Cal, I want to like him, he hasn’t given me a reason to like him for quite some time.

We could be miserable all the time, or we could give a little credit when it's due. We played much of this game without a real PG on the floor, it was a great win and a very good coaching job.
My biggest criticism of Cal this year has been that it’s his responsibility to get the team fired up and ready to fight. And in some of the ugly games we’ve seen, there was no fight. And that’s 100% on Cal. We saw the fight today. Finally!
18 turnovers and we win. Crazy. Free throws and offensive rebounds really helped.
I enjoy competitive games. Blowouts aren't really much fun to watch.
Bennett has won games by a wide margin against plenty of good teams while at UVA. It's all in the matchup. Their pack line D is designed to slow the game down, but it's also designed to tire their opponents out so they can separate towards the end of games. Ultimately, if it's winning basketball, which no one can deny UVA has been under Bennett, I don't care what it looks like or if it's close games.
I like our chances a lot more going forward. Beating UT on their court while the refs are heavily in their favor shows we can beat just about anyone if we fight.
Do those that say I hang on Cal’s nuts or hate his guts, this is the type of coaching I want from him

You may be right. Cal seemed more engaged than he has in a while. Looked like he was actually coaching versus yelling just to yell.
Plus we made free throws today. We still have figure out how to defend pick and rolls in the post. It's still killing us!
I especially liked that he made defensive adjustments in the 2nd half when TN started hitting a groove on offense. Oh wait, no they just just missed several easy looks. Glad we got the W today, team played much harder and better but cal has to be willing to make adjustments which he seemingly just will not do.
Can't follow this one up with a clunker next week though. Gotta go on a roll here.
Question to Cal - Outside of the first 4 minutes and last 4 minutes of the game, WHY DID IT TAKE YOU UNTIL JANUARY 14TH TO RUN ANY RESEMBLANCE OF AN OFFENSE?? This is the problem UK fans have been bitching about especially with all of the experienced players back and was able to start practicing/playing in August. I will take the win all day long, but trying to take the air out of the ball in the last 3-4 minutes remains an issue.
Credit to Cal's coaching and the players for showing some fight. When they deserve credit; I don't mind giving it.
CAl actually did 2 things today that goes AGAINST everything he values, he ALLOWED the opposing Center to KEEP getting buckets and STOPPED the opponents 3 pt shooters.
The other being he put in our 5 BEST scorers(Reeves, CJ, Wallace, Oscar, Toppin) on the floor at the same time. No 3 Bigs!!! They were +18 as a group in the game!!!
I hope Cal is FINALLY adjusting to MODERN Basketball!!!!
