I agree. Go with him and Livingston. They have the most upside and the toughness we'll need in conference play. Those two need to start and Ware is my hero because he plays like the name on his jersey means something. He just doesn't have the offensive skill set. At least he knows his roll and doesn't jack up terrible shots. Ware should come off the bench and get Toppins mins.
I hesitate to be too hard on Lance because he really does play hard but he should be getting 6-8 minutes a game backing up Oscar and that’s it. Play some combination of Wheeler, Reeves, Wallace, Frederick, Thiero, and Livingston at the other four spots and let’s roll.

If Toppin was smart he would emulate Wendell Ladner at this point. His stats would increase in different areas that would help the team the most. Got to be a tough guy to do that, is he willing?
He’s not tough enough to be Ladner, Ware is the closest thing to Ladner. Bring Ware off the bench for a few minutes at a time to rough up somebody.
I'm too young to remember Ladner, but I'm looking him up and reading about him and Brisker.

Toppin needs to be the number one hustler on the court, the guy jumping into stands to save a ball, the guy diving all over the floor and getting or tying up every loose ball, the guy crashing the boards like a maniac and the bad/psychotic guy up in your face on defense ripping the ball away. IF he wants to make it big. Playing fines ball will not be enough.

Lance is the man but you're right. 6- 10 imo. If we get to that point where we can limit him to that it means we've toughend up and are winning. Too bad Ware doesn't have the offensive skill set to go with the heart he plays with.

Thierro will be better than Reeves by the end of the season....if not sooner.
Reeves has been disappointing but I don’t think we’ve seen his best. I still think he’s capable of bringing something that this team needs.

We would be a different team had Brooks came back.
No, we wouldn't. He was just another 4 that Cal turned into a guard for his NBA stock. The ONLY difference is Brooks could hit a few more jumpers than Toppin IF the defense wasn't playing up in his grill. If they got physical, he shut down, just like Toppin does now. Brooks wouldn't make this team better, because Cal's wacked scheme is all about their draft night, not winning college games.

Ever see Toppin have a game like Brooks did at Kansas last year? Nope, you haven't and you never will.

He does try his best. I think he does have the ability to be aggressive. He had a great strong take to the rim for a dunk. I think Ware’s issue is confidence. If he can start consistently doing that maybe it can help with confidence
If he comes in, plays smart and doesn’t turn it over and dunks what he can he’s fine. Just him trying to make a move is a turnover, his passing is suspect, and he’s not super athletic or have great defensive instincts. He can still be a valuable 10-15 minute sub depending on who we play and how others are playing. Hard nose defense with a couple fouls. Just grab rebounds and don’t turn the ball over.
