Who are the people that matter most? The big money boosters. If I were one of them and I was pissing away 100's of thousands of dollars if not millions on what has been going on with UK basketball the past 5-6 years, I would not be a happy camper.Hahahaha! I love how this thread starts as "Sources say..." and then provides NO source, tweet, or reference to anything.
I don't mind the Cal criticism really, he deserves a big portion of it. But there are some who only post 87 times a day (Cat Phight) when we lose, seems obvious to me.
Sources say is a podcast, most prob knew that. They are full of **** and just some fans talking and trying to throw ish at the wall and see what stick's.
He sets up shop when things go bad and literally spends his entire day here and then vanishes when we win. I think it's Son of Saul. but that's just me.

I don't know about that particular poster. But I don't usually post much during, even though I read the in-game. It's just the same thing that's posted 25 times until the next significant thing happens. I read along to make sure what I'm seeing is what others are seeing.

I could see it. This season is still on the side of "disappointment" (although today was a good step forward).. and next year is giant crop of 1AD and seniors graduating. It would make sense for him to hang it up.
One thing to keep an eye on is recruiting for the 2024 class. If we don't start signing some/hearing buzz, that could be a big sign.. and if he struggles to sign recruits, that could also send him packing.

When Cal does leave it will be bittersweet. The man brought us some damn fun years of UK basketball. He’s also brought us some headaches.

You only know 50 UK fans? You need to get out more. Next home game stand outside the arena and introduce yourself to everyone walking in for the game. After you introduce yourself ask each person if they would like to see Cal go. Better yet, do the same thing after the game. This will need to be done after a lose or a win to be fair. Come on back and post after you do this and let us know the results. You’ll have plenty of new friends and a more believable sampling of people for your initial post.

As an example my Mom and Dad were friends with a self made millionaire couple. Built up a international business from scratch. So 1 year they go to Hawaii together. The millionaire brings his 1 child home a souvenir. A shot glass. He bought at the airport. It wasn't gold encrusted. It was painted in some factory in Hong Kong.
I do not need to sample any further because 10's of thousands of UK fans cam tell you the same thing.

In his estimation there is only like 900 people that are mad at Cal lol.
Folks can think or believe what they like but it is much more difficult to find a Cal supporter than a Cal detractor. I would put it somewhere 70/30 to 75/25 anti Cal in the world of Cat fans.
That’s pretty close I think. On the bright side for me, if this is true only less than two years until I can stomach to watch a UK basketball game again. That’s just a Ryder Cup.

Glad most still can watch, really. I’m the minority and realize it. I just don’t like being angry after watching what’s supposed to be entertaining. And after watching for over 50 years, the product sucks. (I’m old also).
Imagine being someone that has watched Cal coach the last 6 years, and watched all that has happened in that time, and actually wanting him to stay here.

Cal needs to go, but the constant whining and bitching are ridiculous... he could win the next two titles and it still would not be enough for many here.
I might be wrong in this generalization, but I suspect most of those people are young and they don't recall any other coach or the winning that took place long before Calipari showed up. To them, Calipari and Kentucky basketball are synonymous. They can't conceive of a new coach, so they refuse to accept the possibility. They can't fully accept that you don't need number 1 recruiting classes to win championships.
He could go 9-17, lose the all-time wins lead to Kansas, and then lose in the first round to a team with Peacocks as the mascot, and it still would not be enough for many here to question his coaching ability.
