If I do good in my life and follow all the principles God allegedly wishes, even if I don't do it in his honor or with belief in him as to why I do those things, why would faith be a decider? Does that seem logical to you?
Because Jesus requires our acknowledgement. All glory goes to him in EVERYTHING.

John 3:3
Truly, truly I say unto you, unless one is born again, he shall not see the kingdom of God.

Luke 13:3
No, I tell you; unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.

Titus 3:5
He saved us not of works done by us in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit.

Hell, lets just end this here and now. You believers make the claim....wheres your proof?

Look all around you. There’s literally proof in every second of every day, you just have your eyes, AKA ❤️ shut.

The human body, the earth, the solar system, your conscious, and the greatest proof of all, my salvation.

I use to be an atheist myself and probably the worse human to live and God changed me one night at a little Eastern, Ky church in 2007. Once you experience the Holy Spirit, there is no more denying.

No I think a caterpillar to a butterfly is an example of evolution.
Which was the exmple I used when you asked for evidence that evolution was possible. Refer to post #142

Caterpillar to a butterfly is not the same as ape to human or fish to human. If you can’t comprehend that much, I’m not even gonna continue this conversation.

It was never meant to be "proven". Lets' revisit what Jesus told "doubting" Thomas.

John 20:29
Jesus said to him, Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Greater are those who have not seen, yet have believed.

Wrong.... I have to be willing to believe in something based on poor to no evidence.

You clearly aren’t grasping basic concepts. There’s a reason you’re still replying to me about something you don’t believe in at 2am. So I’m praying and believing God will save you before you get the best evidence of your life, judgement day. Have a nice night, sir.

Evolution is a scientifically proven fact. Things change over time. Just stop...you are in over your head.
Evolution is not a scientifically proven fact. It is a theory. As someone with a bachelor’s in biology I can vouch that the theory of evolution is not without evidence as others have suggested. But it is still an UNPROVEN theory in the field of science.

And even if evolution was proven I would have to be convinced that it was not part of God’s design. The Bible says he created the universe in 7 days. It also says all the time preexisting the Bible up to the Bible was a blink of the eye for God. So then what would God consider to be a day? It was certainly longer 24 hours (I know this wasn’t brought up but it’s one of my favorite parts of the Bible- I find the concept of time fascinating).

Also, it is regrettable how some of my fellow Christians have treated you in this thread. I have noticed that you only retaliated and didn’t initiate. These are Christians who have forgotten it is not our place to judge, that is God’s job alone.

I said it was an example of evolution. Said nothing about ape to human.

evolution....the gradual development of something, especially from a simple to a more complex form. FACT
A caterpillar becoming a butterfly is not an example of Darwinian evolution. And it is not something simple becoming more complex.

Also you deleted your original reply but it’s important that you know that scientific theories are not facts.

Things change ove time. Is this not evolution? Evolution is fact. That is all I'm saying.

Ape to human is change of species. Caterpillar to butterfly is still the same species. No one is denying evolution doesn’t exist but I am saying evolving into a different species doesn’t exist and has zero evidence for such.

By that argument a child becoming an adult is evolution. This is not what the scientific community is alluding to when they say “evolution.”

The theory of evolution that you’ve been arguing in favor for is Darwinian evolution (Charles Darwin, btw, was a Christian- just saying) and that theory is not the explanation for why a caterpillar becomes a butterfly. That is a metamorphosis and it is different from evolution. Unless you’re playing Pokémon.

Then what is your argument? That organisms evolve over time? By the basic, Webster dictionary of evolution of course that is true.

Please define what you mean by evolution. Because every atheist/agnostic I’ve ever discussed this with refers to Darwinian evolution theory when discussing evolution.

I can’t believe I’m even having a conversation with another adult that thinks a caterpillar to a butterfly is the same as ape to human. Especially when the person is trying to use science to appear smarter but can’t comprehend basic science. I actually wish I was making this up. 🤯

Lol. Ok. You have a very primitive understanding of biology on this planet if you think “tadpoles to frogs caterpillars to butterflies” is an explanation for the evolution of ape into man. No scientist in the field of evolution would even consider using that as a defense for evolution theory.

Are you high? That is a sincere question

I did feel bad when I was reading how others were coming after him earlier. But now…

He’s either intoxicated or ignorant on what he talks about. No atheist or agnostic I have talked to has EVER cited metamorphism as an example of evolution.

This is STILL you having "faith" in the scientists that told you or you read that believe this.

Even those scientists can't PROVE 4.5 billion years.
And even if they could: what force of nature created that system of evolution and how?

Science has not proven evolution but even if they did they would still have to prove that evolution was not part of His creation.

And you need to outline your terms and beliefs before entering a debate.

I did read the whole convo. I read where you said you don’t know where we came from. And then I read where you defended evolution theory based on a caterpillar becoming a butterfly.

I probably need to apologize to him in case I came off wrong in anything I said. I’m genuinely concerned for the guy tho. I think he’s seeking something or I wouldn’t even have the conversation with him.

You can’t convince me that he truly believes metamorphism is the same as ape to human. You just can’t.. lol

All we can do is plant the seeds brother and let the Lord give the increase.

Look man, I would be rubbed the wrong way too if I had people come at me the way the others did early on. If you ever want to have an honest discussion on the origin of life with a Christian who won’t belittle you, hmu.

But it’s clear to me, at this point in time, an honest, fruitful discussion on this topic is not what you’re after. I hope your night improves.

I can’t name (because I simply don’t care to go back and look) at who went after him but there was one or two that came at him rudely without provocation. And that probably rubbed him the wrong way and now he’s just being a troll to make us mad.

If he truly thinks Darwinian evolution is a possibility for the creation of human beings, then no, he certainly doesn’t believe metamorphism is valid evidence for that. Two completely different topics. And funny enough metamorphosis is proven whereas Darwinian evolution is still a theory. I remember getting my biology degree from a bunch of atheist professors and having my faith reaffirmed. Because if something so complex and clever as evolution does exist, then only He could have created it.

I don’t think I came after him super hard but I can get worked up when I’m discussing something I’m passionate about, (God and Sports)

That’s awesome man! I wish I had it to do over because I would have most definitely took biology classes in college instead of going straight to work. I like to watch the Professor and Christian debates on YT. Did you ever debate those guys?

My point is if evolution is possible (things chänge over time). 4.5 billion years is a lot of time for change and possibiliies. I've never claimed belief in any theory as I simply do not claim to know the answers. Your religion boast claims...you know your god is the creator of all. I call on you to present demonstrable proof.

No. I learned pretty quick to keep my mouth shut about my religion and politics for the sake of my grades. I wish I was kidding.
