I'm not a believer so I really don't know. Seems like I heard/read the body is a temple or not supposed to desecrate the flesh. Like many things. I guess it is how you interpret the bible.

You are correct about interpretation
It's Old Testament, Leviticus 19:28 "You shall not make any gashes in your flesh for the dead or tattoo any marks upon you" . Some Christians still believe that even the New Testament verses on your body being a "Temple of the Lord" prohibit tattoo's.
Depends on who you ask. Some denominations of Christians that absolutely forbid it. Others not so much.
In Judaism itās not looked highly upon at all. In fact certain sects will prevent you from being buried in a Jewish cemetery if you are tatted up.
Personally, I donāt care either way. Tattoos can be very artistic. I donāt like the hands or face tats much.
Nothing wrong with tattoo, I have about 10. None on the face or hands. I worked in a prison for 8 years and seen a lot of good and terrible tattoos. Never got my first one until 44.

I believe Jesus cares more about what is inside of a person, not their outside appearance. There are far worse things that getting a tattoo.

I had a client who was a dermatoligist who spent the majority of his time trying to remove tatoos. I think I'll pass on those.
Itās more painful to remove them too. They literally burn the ink out of your skin

Yep, our Baptist pastor preached on it one Sunday and how it was a sin. We had been going to church there for years. My wife has tattoos. We never returned. Or to any other Baptist church for that matter.

Essentially it was an outward presentation of inward pain
However not all preachers and members of the church know their biblical history and things take on new meanings.

Riders would dismount and Camels had to lay on their bellies and scoot through a lowered entry for many walled cities (one gate in particular in Jerusalem was named āthe eye of the needleā). It was a defense mechanism to prevent armies from invading bc they could only come through one at a time. It was much more difficult for a camel to pass than an open traditional gateā¦but not impossible. Wealthy people tend to have more temptation with greed etc and they also have more ability to give but donāt always live up to living in his image etc
Read the post I just posted. Thatās a perfect example of the people preaching the Bible but not understanding the context. Modern tattooing isnāt the same as what tattooing was in the culture then.
Do you, Iām all for it. Iām so confused why the face or hands needs to be pointed out constantly. Who cares where they are?

No ill will intended I can promise you that. Just curious why people who get tattoos bring up āhands and faceā.

For the purposes of the current discussion (I.e., āin the eyes of Godā) I suppose it wouldnāt be any different.
But from a societal standpoint there is a huge difference. Unless you are a professional athlete or a rapper, face tattoos make it extremely hard for 99.9% of the population to find gainful employment. Same thing with the hands, to a lesser extent.

Iāve heard this from the pulpit before. In fact a former pastor of mine believed this as well. I will respectfully disagree with that theory/theology because of how Jesus continued that conversation. He said, āWith man it is impossible (no unpacking a camelās gear, no having the camel crawl, etc), but with God all things are possible.
I don't believe sufficient evidence exist to warrant belief in a god. I don't believe in sin, as I don't believe in your god. I don't need a god to be a good human. Thanks for asking.....
