Can Cal be demoted?

Seriously, I know with basically any job if you were to have poor performance and instead of axing you, you get demoted. Kentucky could promote Chin or Antigua as head coach and make Cal assistant. I'm sure his ego couldn't handle it and he'd resign. Thoughts.

Sounds like a good idea, but I'm sure the lawyers have his contract tied up tight enough to account for that ( as in, UK would still have to buy him out of the Head Coach job).

His contract guarantees him the head coaching position so, no, we can’t.

Doesn’t matter if you call it a firing or demotion, UK still can’t take the HC spot away without paying that outlandish astronomical buyout.

We could make up some covid-related rule that in order to protect the head coach, his game-related duties will be performed via Zoom.

Your post is totally idiotic and a complete waste of time. Cal is not going to be demoted or fired. He will leave UK when he wants to, probably when his contract ends. Most of Kentucky's fans are nowhere near as critical of Cal as the lunatics on this forum. You guys represent a small fringe element of the fans. I guess you enjoy deluding yourselves into thinking that Cal's bosses care anything about all of the ranting and raving you do.

I do agree most of the fan base doesn’t think like most of the members here.

I see someone has a poor sense of humor. We all know he's not leaving Einstein. At least we can have fun with hypothetical situations. Now get off my lawn.

It's a never-ending cycle of guys posting stupid stuff for "likes" as they know their pitch fork buddies will give them that since they are addicted to it.

Lets assume for a minute the AD wanted to make a change (I don't think he does), and wanted to play hardball (I don't think he would).

Question for the lawyers out there: Could an AD take Cal's statements as follows (that I have heard about...haven't seen direct quotes): "Now in our state, they want the mission to be 'win national titles.' My mission is bigger than that"....."generational wealth"....."most important day is NBA draft day"....etc. and consider pressing for a dismissal for cause.

Why? Coach Call could be seen as using the UK BB program as only a catalyst to advance interests that are not in his employment agreement to the detriment of those things that are in the employment agreement ....such as maximizing efforts and employment of program resources to win BB games. He is as much as admitting he is not doing what is expected of him.

I suppose you could throw in as a type of misappropriation the S. Sharpe "free scholarship" with no demand by the HC that the player on BB scholarship participate in BB games.

Follow on question for the legal eagles: How much free rein does Cal have to promote activities with program resources that may not maximize program success?

GBB!

I dont think many people get demoted and those that are presented with that probably choose to leave for other employment.

So the backup QB is better than the starter to use a FB comparison...c'mon, this is a moronic idea since the staff does not even have close to HOF coaching experience.

Why would we want a Cal disciple/assistant to lead the team?

Have you seen what Kenny Payne is doing ?
