OKC has been succeeding with some really oddball lineups with virtually unknown players. SGA has basically been playing the 4 spot in a four guard small ball starting lineup. Dude went from playing PG in college to currently playing the PF spot in the NBA. …and he’s thrived in both roles. That’s a baller.

I’d say he ranks alongside Tyler Ulis as the most pleasant recruiting surprises of the Cal era. He’s the only thing that made that dreary 2018 season tolerable.

It's fascinating that while we missed on guys like Okafor, Bagley, and Duval, we ended up landing better players like Towns, Shai, and Murray.
We develop talent better than others. Granted, the players also are due credit for continuing that development once they leave here, as Shai and others have done. But the staff is what builds that foundation and teaches the habits that enable much of that mindset it requires of these young men to be successful.

All-Star voting is dumb, but I can't imagine a world where Shai isn't an All-Star this year. He can't be denied at this point.
If they do the thing where two captains pick teams it’s a popularity contest, the problem with the West is, you have guys who are automatic locks, like doncic, booker, morant, and curry, and I think only 5 guards get voted in, but it would be absolute BS if shai isn’t voted in

SGA should be on the all star team this year, but with how stupid all star voting is, because he isn’t a huge name yet, he probably won’t get in
There's no chance a dude putting 30+ points a game with his efficiency isn't an All Star. Fans are only part of the equation.

It's really really ******* bad luck that chet holmgren got hurt. They will be a contender next year they just need to add another piece from the draft. Maybe a guy named Oscar🤔

Fans play to big a part in it, he should be, but every year there are clear obvious snubs who don’t get in because of the popularity vote. The west is loaded with guards, but SGA should no doubt be in, hell he should probably be a starter

The players are voted in before the captains pick their teams .

I doubt the fans will vote for him unless Canada gets behind him strong . But the coaches will definitely vote him in .

I think the fans only pick the starters. Either way I'm looking forward to SGA, D Book, KAT, AD, Bam, and even Keldon Johnsons of he maintains his level of play being All Stars.

Just looked it up . Fans account for 50% of the votes, players 25% and media 25%. For being a starter
SGA doncic and curry should all be starters all 3 are playing at a higher level than anybody else, maybe morant has a argument, but those 3 on another level right now

I agree but you know how popularity is . Plus isn’t the voting set up where only 2 guards can be a starter? I believe it’s 2 guards and then 3 Forwards/big man . I know they got rid of the center spot on all star voting

It’s all stupid, it should just be the five best players, I know doncic is a guard, but he is big enough to be a foward he is like 6’6 or 6’7, I like lebron and AD but they will both get voted into the all star game when neither one deserves it

And to think: Shai was an afterthought when he stepped on campus.
When he committed I was absolutely ecstatic, I had seen him live twice and he was outstanding playing against great compitetion. Told my son, There's no way Quade Green was better, he thought I was Looney. SGA is probably the most underrated players to ever play at UK. Canada has been good for UK, SGA, Murray, Wilcher, Magalore, seems I'm forgetting someone.
