There's an announced game not listed yet. I'm concerned it ain't gonna happen.
Yup, and we're not on their schedule yet either:Gonzaga not listed it seems? What's the hold up?
I really do want to play them because I think we can beat them.. and that would help in wrangling a 1seed from them. But it's a good enough schedule on its own.
No listing and EKy location for the Blue-White game either. I imagine it will be updated soon.Gonzaga not listed it seems? What's the hold up?

Probably trying to find a time slot on a Network I’d say. ESPN will probably make it a Gameday or something I’d say.Probably either A) a financial/sponsor or B) just network trying to find a prime spot. Both coaches have committed publicly, so it's probably just a money delay. I wouldn't sweat it.
I thought the agreed to play it in Spokane?
Here it is.
I read this as, they are haggling over the location. UK won't play at Gonzaga's home arena and wants the game in Spokane.
They should play them at the Kennel. That’s their home court. They aren’t demanding that we play them at NKU or the Yum Center are they?

Isn’t this what prompted Cal to say fans who want us to play Gonzaga at home want us to lose? They should play them at the Kennel. That’s their home court. They aren’t demanding that we play them at NKU or the Yum Center are they?
I don't think it is arrogant, I just think they know the vast majority of their season ticket holders don't care who is on the schedule. They are keeping their tickets regardless. They also know that someone is in line to gobble up any available season tickets if someone decides to give them up.First let me say I am not mad at anybody. Just giving the bottom line .
My Wife and I are very busy people in both our professional lives, family and social lives . We have to plan six months in advance at least. Some things a year in advance
After thirty five years of season football tickets we dropped them because of the SEC /ESPN policy of not announcing game times until 12 days out . Not compatible with things like traveling baseball or Broadway series tickets .
We dropped our season basketball tickets this year because it was too many games in favor of sharing about 12 games with two season ticket holders who were about to drop theirs . Without our participation they both would have dropped them. While we love UK and contribute to the school in many ways we can’t live with UK not releasing the full basketball schedule until this late .
No Way to intelligently and Fairly divide the tickets without knowing full schedule and game times. For instance who gets stuck with 9 PM games.
again I’m not mad at anyone . I think overall MB has done a great job . Just pointing out that the customer unfriendly way of scheduling football and apparently now basketball resulted in us opting out of football and now probably basketball .
How arrogant is it for UK to expect season ticket holders to renew tickets by the deadline without even knowing the schedule .
That’s what he said. When we were Kentucky, we would not have thought twice about playing anybody anywhere including somebody else’s home court. Cal needs to remember where he is. Who says if UK plays them in Spokane that that will make it any easier to win. It shows weakness on his partIsn’t this what prompted Cal to say fans who want us to play Gonzaga at home want us to lose?
Those are 2 different things. Rupp is just about the same distance from the UK campus as the Spokane Arena is from Gonzaga's campus. I don't care where we play them, but those are two totally different scenarios. They should play them at the Kennel. That’s their home court. They aren’t demanding that we play them at NKU or the Yum Center are they?
I dropped my season tickets this year for many of the same reasons. I did not like the idea of committing to purchase without knowing the schedule. Most of the games are not worth travelling to and it has gotten to the point where it was even difficult to give many away. What bugged me a lot is that recently they started offering mini-packs at lower prices per ticket than what we had to pay as season ticket holders. I'll still look for one or two games to attend in person, but I am happy to not lay out the money now with the hope I can cover my losses.First let me say I am not mad at anybody. Just giving the bottom line .

I think TV controls a lot of the times we play. Money is controlling a lot of things.
It is a home and home....play them home and home...any other coach we ever had would have played them in the Kennel...mileage wise different scenario, but, in concept NOTThose are 2 different things. I guess I look at it like if our volleyball team was playing another school and they requested the game be at Rupp instead of their home court at Memorial. I would still consider that a home game for them. I'd rather play in the Kennel and don't agree with Cal requesting that, and although it's not technically a home game, it's a home game for them.It is a home and home....play them home and home...any other coach we ever had would have played them in the Kennel...mileage wise different scenario, but, in concept NOT
I’m not really bitching . I want what’s best for UK. I’m just pointing out that the bottom line is we dropped twelve season football tickets because of 12 day TV rule and I c same thing happening to basketball.People have to find a reason to ***** or assume things. Let's wait until the final schedule is released and go from there.
As for the home game nonsense, it is the fact that we are Kentucky that allows us to dictate the bigger arena.
Play them at the Kennel and if Cal can’t do that, we need to get a coach who knows he is coaching Kentucky and we don’t backdown or whine. Everybody has an opinionNo it doesn't. It makes us look like big bad Kentucky.
Im with ya! Cal said any fan who wants UK to play in front of 6,000 or less fans wants em to lose and goes on to say he started checking records and stopped looking past the 70s cause it aint happening but it HAS happened and the team it happened to??? Oh it just happened to be Gonzaga themselves out in Maui in 2002 and in front of way less than 6,000. Cal is full of excuses and that's the part of it that gets me is how ppl think he really cares about the damn revenue out in Spokane or that attendance is a factor and ppl will really be out here believing that stuff. I just wanna see Cal and UK pull up where ever to play a game a basketball for 40+ mins and not always have a reason why he can't. Just do it! Either crowd is too rowdy at IU or ain't enough ppl at Gonzaga smh. Most ppl it seems to disagree with me which is fine. I glad someone else see it my way though. That’s what he said. When we were Kentucky, we would not have thought twice about playing anybody anywhere including somebody else’s home court. Cal needs to remember where he is. Really? Maybe thats how some ppl view it but I don't think it makes us look like big bad nothing. Big Bad scared to pull that bus up a extra few miles down the road while we agree to come to town anyways. This ain't even a UK problem. It's a Cal issue but it makes Kentucky look scared to death is the way I see it.No it doesn't. It makes us look like big bad Kentucky.
Yeah but the thing is Cal has been doing this since Memphis to Zags where he played em twice and back then he wouldn't go to The Kennel. Mark Few dont got a problem with showing up and Mark Few said he wish UK would come to The Kennel but anyways. So it not like this is a UK too big to come there. It's Cal. Always git have demands. One question, has it been established that Calipari and/or UK is aganst playing their game in the Kennel? Usually teams with a small home gymnasium will choose to hold their games against a marquee opponent in a nearby larger arena because demand from students and alumni alike is very high and they can sell more tickets. Either that or the TV network prefers a larger place. Not sure why Calipari has much of any say over where Gonzaga plays their home game?
Edit: I went back and saw that he tweeted something about not wanting to play in an arena that only seats 6000 fans etc. back in early August. I was on vacation at the time so missed it. Don't agree with him, UK should be willing to play wherever the home team wants to play. If I were Gonzaga I'd seriously consider playing in a larger gym but that's just me.
