Have to be honest, I thought buckeye willy and all his wokeness was here to stay. But that post is classic old Willy. Maybe he has to get several states away before he stops being a gaping ***. But regardless I'll take it.

Shocking that Vern pulled the race card in a post about UK football. I'm sorry about all your struggles because of your skin color Vern. Rolleyes

I subbed once for an 8th school history class on 9/11 and I mentioned to them that they were probably the first group of students that don’t have a distinct memory of it.

That was 12 years ago.

**** flies by doesn't it?

I think it was probably 2017-2018 timeframe cause I was still in Tucson -

but we finally hit the point where young, enlisted Airmen deploying to Afghanistan for the 1st time ----
hadn't even been born when we sent our military in there initially

Alright, searching the collective intelligence/experience of GYERO here as my wife and I are wanting to take a quick trip somewhere (3, 4 nights) and we both kind of want to see Boston (probably late October). I have no clue where to start and need recs on where to stay, eat, must do's, etc.

~The Stoops slobberfest among so called "college footballs" is amusing, especially considering he is 13-14 in his last 27 SEC games. I guess I will give him props for being mediocre, even with his indiscretions, which so many UK fans accept for some odd reason. Smoke and mirrors wins out here, for sure.....have witnessed it for decades.

~Levis a first round pick after 2 games....well, so are half a dozen other QB's in the SEC then.

~Stocks and inflation are crushing....Vern must be happy w/ his boy.

~HHI awesome as usual. Snowbird home on the horizon.

Enjoy.

Fly to Boston for a couple nights. Drive the 90 minutes to Portland, Maine for the rest of the trip. Should be gorgeous in October.

Vern doesn't have a clue. His idea of investing comes in $1, $5, $10 and $20 tickets at the gas station.*

*I hope this isn't accurate and you really do invest. Wanna see everybody in here become multi-millionaires.

- Super jealous of Willy's post about the trip. It was an all-timer at the local pub here, can't imagine the scene live. Werepecker gif needed about two or three more feet.

- Just when I thought I was thinking Cobra Kai was going to "Jump the Shark" this season, it finished strong. This one got a little dark, though. But badass seeing Daniel teaming up with all of his former rivals.

- Doing an 80s cheese movie night: The Beastmaster and Clash of the Titans. Two movies I worshipped as a kid, but would not garner one bit of attention to 2022 Matts. Marc Singer was a poor man's Kevin Bacon.

- Going back to great game shows that are rarely talked about, totally agree that Sale of the Century was the most heavily underrated.

Others that were in my "sick day" from school rotation:

1. Classic Concentration
2. Scrabble
3. Card Sharks
4. Joker's Wild
5. Name That Tune

- The Mattel Electronic Classic Football handheld game is still arguably the greatest toy I've ever had. I got one for two straight Christmas years, and wore out about a million 9V batteries. With the sound down, I bet that thing got me through tons of boring classes in elementary school.

- Speaking of which, not sure I was more fired up about a piece of parcel from the USPS then when the Sears Christmas Toy Wishlist catalog came.

I can still smell that scent of opening the book/turning those pages while circling all kinds of toys you wanted the parents to see.

- I'll never hate on a Kahn's bologna sammy with crunched up BBQ Grippo's in-between the meat and bread.

- Today's weather was damn-near perfect. Let's hope this stays around for next month's meet/football.

- Do they still make Preferred Stock (or 90s cologne)? I swear the guy that fills our snack machine had some on today. That was instant headache for me.

Boston is fantastic IF:

You like watching people vomit on the sidewalk at 2:00 in the afternoon.

Don't mind putting up with the rudest and most dim-witted native population you're likely to ever come across in any of America's major cities. I mean, PHILADELPHIA has friendlier folks. Think about that...

Enjoy unintelligent conversation and racist arguments at every bar you walk into.

If all of this sounds good to you, you'll have a fantastic time.

UK Football is:

14-3 in their last 17 games played.
35-17 since 2018.
26-25 in the SEC since 2016. (For a program that didn't have a winning SEC record in a season from 1978 to 2018)
4-0 in their last 4 bowl games. Only Alabama has won a postseason game the last 4 years as well.
6 straight bowl appearances. We've only been in 21 in our history.
5-1 in games played in the state of Florida since 2018.
7-1 vs South Carolina since the famous 2014 game when Grove Street Party became forever tied to this program. (1-13 from 2000 to 2013)
6-1 vs Missouri since 2015
3-2 vs Florida since 2018.
6-0 vs Vanderbilt since 2016.
Undefeated in getting UKO to delete his social media when they prove him wrong.

Still have a lot of work to do.

- Watched a documentary on the America’s Cup. I had no more than extremely vague knowledge of it - apparently it was a big deal up into the 80s. Who knew?

- I remember the prevalence of the blue/white striped UK rugby shirt in the Rupp stands in the 80s/90s and think the look needs a comeback.

- This is the worst my allergies have been in years.

- Also woke up with an apparent sprained/tweaked ankle? Could barely walk on it. Loosening up now but WTF.

- Was chuckling earlier thinking back to the words of wisdom my buddy’s married older brother gave us back when we were out hotcocking in our 20s:

“No married guy wishes he would have slept with less women when he was single. Remember that.”

- Few things are more aptly named than the “Terrible Twos.”

- Hitting up this Van Gogh exhibit for a work thing - anyone been?

- Oktoberfest Zinzinnati this weekend. Not sure if I can get down there or not.

- Rewatchables hitting “Singles” this week. Great movie I’ve seen probably 7-8x. Still prefer “Reality Bites” but understand either preference.
