- Perfectly fine with a 12-team CFB tournament

- Triple-Threat for Hottest Old School Vixens for MattsCats:

* Audrey Hepburn
* Rita Hayworth
* Sharon Tate

- Sleep admission: I've fallen asleep to an old-school The Price is Right music score playlist. Those tunes held up for decades.

The up-beat "car score" one is the best. I can hear Bob Barker pointing to the about-to-be-opening stage doors, leading to Rod Roddy screaming, "A NEW CAR!!"

{Holly, or one of the other three or four Barker's Beauties are revealed modeling the vehicle.}

Rod: "The Dodge 600ES, 4-door sedan is equipped...(goes over all the features)...and complete with California Emission....Bob...."

- I am the wobbly wheel shopping cart whisperer. Never fails.

- Tentative early (noon) parlay for Saturday:

* Colorado State +30.5
* Boston College -7.5
* OVER 51.5 NCST/ECU

- Three-tenths of the way into Season 5 of Better Call Saul, and I've never seen a character's storyline go from an, "Okay we might be going a little over to the speed limit" drive, to a blown tire going 115MPH on an interstate, within a couple of episodes.

This show is great, but I am going to have to see if the last two seasons puts it in Breaking Bad territory.

Saul is an-timer, though.

- Genesis' "Misunderstanding" is the perfect The-Refs/Umps/Officials-Are-Looking-At-The-Monitor-To-Review-A-Play song.

- Five f*cking weeks to some crisp-aired Keeneland; transitioning into--what I feel--will be an epic Breeders' Cup that the fine folks at that track will make beyond special.

Do you like Phil Collins? I've been a big Genesis fan ever since the release of their 1980 album, Duke. Before that, I really didn't understand any of their work. Too artsy, too intellectual. It was on Duke where Phil Collins' presence became more apparent. I think Invisible Touch was the group's undisputed masterpiece. It's an epic meditation on intangibility. At the same time, it deepens and enriches the meaning of the preceding three albums. Christy, take off your robe. Listen to the brilliant ensemble playing of Banks, Collins and Rutherford. You can practically hear every nuance of every instrument. Sabrina, remove your dress. In terms of lyrical craftsmanship, the sheer songwriting, this album hits a new peak of professionalism. Sabrina, why don't you, uh, dance a little. Take the lyrics to Land of Confusion. In this song, Phil Collins addresses the problems of abusive political authority. In Too Deep is the most moving pop song of the 1980s, about monogamy and commitment. The song is extremely uplifting. Their lyrics are as positive and affirmative as anything I've heard in rock. Christy, get down on your knees so Sabrina can see your *******. Phil Collins' solo career seems to be more commercial and therefore more satisfying, in a narrower way. Especially songs like In the Air Tonight and Against All Odds. Sabrina, don't just stare at it, eat it. But I also think Phil Collins works best within the confines of the group, than as a solo artist, and I stress the word artist. This is Sussudio, a great, great song, a personal favorite.

Can we get another Shaedon Sharpe video or something? That's a ton of words no one is going to read.

I’m drinking a bud heavy (this town has no IPAs) and listened to my doublewide neighbors get in a fight outside 10 feet away as I was unlocking the door in front of their 5 children both with beer and cigs in hand.

I sleep on an air mattress in my living room and have just a recliner right now. My tv is on the box my recliner came in BUT….

there’s college fball on and I have some wonderful fresh green. And somehow because college fball,

LIFE IS GOOD.

I can hear all sorts of things right now. Tree frogs are just one of them.

- Trying to put my four year old down is a misadventure every night. “Daddy, what’s that sound!l” it’s the goddamned hvac system, doing it’s job. Now go the f**k to bed.

- “Daddy, are aliens real??”

- Well yes, son. As someone who has every X-Files ever made on VHS out in the barn, welcome.

- Phil Colins is such a *****..

- One generational demarcator for me is never having been on a dating app. I’ve been with my wife since 2004, so never had a need. I can’t imagine the wild Wild West this is, though can you get anything you need? Crazy the resources these ******* kids have.

- The Truth is out there.

Wanted to go outside and drink tonight, but settled in at my bar and watched the Yanks and Serena melt concurrently. Still in a good mood. Nothings gonna steal my joy (you hear me, Piglet?)

waking up at 4:45am daily to work out takes a lot of my late night drinking stamina away. Drinking barrel proof rye has been my current trend. Ain’t gonna lie. Old Carter rye was almost popped… nah, I’ll save that **** for an occasion.

football eve.

my kid was partying at my fraternity tonight. 🥹🫣🤮🤯… told him to keep looking, but he thought my composite pic was hilarious. 🤡

working on plans for my revised backyard retaining wall, shipping container pool, landscaping. The final frontier on my ‘estate’. summer ‘24.

tomorrow… Gym, Newport RI, Sally’s Apizza, Kates

roped into training to be Eucharistic minister at church. The benefits of going every week is you can’t hide forever. 🙄

Like a kid on Christmas Eve right now. Truck’s packed and ready to roll. Tent is already set up and grass is mowed, no thanks to UK.

Had two guys on my street doing the same packing routine while I was. All with our cold domestos.

Life is good. Kates.
