Not going to be hard to overshadow Couch though he would have had a much better career if he'd been able to stay healthy.

Not bashing Couch but it won't take much to surpass him as a pro. That's a fact.

@BernieSadori you and Jon Rothstein must have the same travel agent. He is posting pics in the same locations you are.

Couch didn’t exactly have Brett Favre-quality arm strength, but he got beaten up about as badly as any QB ever has. His OL was trash.

Yes he was sacked 56 times his rookie year, and 51 times his third year. Sacked over 200 times in his first 5 seasons, and that’s obviously not including hits, late hits or tackles when he actually made the line of scrimmage while running for his life.

I’ve often wondered what happens if Cleveland is convinced McNabb is #1 and Couch goes to Philly.

Top UK QB's:

College only - Tim Couch
College + Pro - Babe Parilli(If Levis or others have a solid pro career they will go here)

What’s amazing/sad is I can literally remember where I was reading Greg Hoover post that (was in Tucson) and I’m pretty sure Willie Kemp, Thadeous Young, and Brandon Wright were 3 of those letters.

Compare that to yesterday where I screamed and got really upset at my 3 year old son after I had said his name at least 5 times without him responding when my wife informed me I was calling him by the dogs name.

Couch played for historically awful NFL teams. Totally unfair to judge him based solely on NFL stats.

That can't be overstated enough. When the Browns returned to the league in '99 they opened the season on Sunday Night Football and lost to the Steelers 43-0. They had 2 first downs and 40 total yards that entire game. The next week in his first start Couch was sacked 7 times. No QB was going to succeed in that ********.

He led the browns to the playoffs. That’s a short list since the 80’s.

GFY

I think Couch may have had a decent career if he landed w/a team that wasn't an expansion franchise --

Also - I THINK Couch was the Browns QB when they blew a lead against Pittsburgh at home - right?

Tommy Maddox was the Steelers QB

So - I was the MOST surprise at these football Wildcats not doing as well as I'd expected in the NFL:

George Adams - Tough and big RB for Claiborne drafted to Giants & disappeared (looked slow in the game i remember)

Andre Woodson - Loved his game at UK ..seemed like he had the size and nice touch on the ball

Jared Lorenzen - Call me crazy. i dont care -- that man had heart & was a damn HOSS ...thought he would hold down a 2nd string spot somewhere

Rafael Little - dude would GLIDE as he ran / seemed like a good 3rd down back for someone...Titans had him for a while

I loved George Adams as a kid. He was the first great player at UK I recall watching growing up.

Adams had a decent rookie season, but suffered a horrendous hip injury prior to his 2nd season with the Giants in 1986 which ended up being the season they won the Super Bowl. It was apparently similar to the injury that ruined Bo Jackson.

He hung around the NFL for a few more seasons, but was never able to get a lot of playing time. Apparently, George Adams' left leg is three inches shorter than his right and he has to walk with the use of a cane.

Also, his son is the stud strong safety Jamal Adams with the Seahawks.

- Was living in NE Ohio during the Browns' return in '99, and of course I was on the Couch hype train, being a Kentucky fan. Most of the sentiment towards Couch while I lived up there was that the poor guy just never had a chance. They seem to really appreciate the guy now, having essentially had his career blown up by playing behind a swiss cheese line the entire time. He's still held in relatively high regard.

- Castle last night for anniversary dinner. About what I expected...beautiful atmosphere, hit-or-miss food, not quite worth what we paid for it, but still an experience I'm glad we had. Sometimes I forget that it's an actual hotel as well, so it was a bit starting to see an overweight guy with a mullet in a tank-top and flops heading to the pool with a towel draped over his shoulder.

- Oldest is on the shelf with a stress fracture (poor kid can't catch a break...has had some kind of physical issue every single year of HS cross-country) and can't run this week, so she snagged a scholarship interview at William & Mary in a few days. Jealous I can't tag along, Williamsburg sounds like a cool trip, and apparently W/M is a beautiful campus.

- Nice to see Wetzel, Dauster, and other national media laud Cal for his Eastern Kentucky relief efforts. If there's one thing the guy REALLY gets about the job, it's that he is an ambassador for the entire state. That open practice and telethon is a a great idea.

- I always know election season is approaching when I get a Facebook friend request from someone I've never met or spoken to, but just HAPPENS to be running for public office.

Joe Casey can take a seat behind these Paducah Tilghman what ifs:

Dee Smith - was being used like Deebo Samuel is now. As a sophomore he had 45 touches and 8 touchdowns. Then he decided to sell cocaine in Cincinnati and got busted. Think he ended up at UL.

Emerson Wells - granted I’m biased because we played basketball together growing up but he had the physical tools to be a dominant linebacker.
