Junior Kentucky wing Adou Thiero was named the MOP of the Cats' Three-Peat win in the NCAA FInals on April 7, 2025, edging out Sophomore Reed Sheppard, who had been the sentimental favorite of Kentucky fans to bookend his father's award in 1998.
But no one denied that Adou had earned it with his smothering defense throughout the tournament and unstoppable drives on the basket.
It was a satisfying outcome for Thiero, who was lightly used during the Wildcats' championship run of 2023, then found himself stuck behind the tandem of Wagner and Dillingham in the 38-2 season of 2024 which also culminated in a title. But his patience paid off.
