Going to shows and plays, maybe because it’s a once every five years thing I do, is always a really fun and cool experience. I always leave saying “we should do that more often” before not thinking about doing it again for another five years. Same for live standup which I pretty much always enjoy. Book of Mormon has probably been my favorite as it was basically a combination of both. Second City in Chicago is pretty great too if you ever have the chance.

Phantom is also my favorite. Music is unreal, and never gets old. We caught it here in town a few years ago when the lass' friend from Vandy played the Phantom. Grabbed drinks with he and his wife after at Proof. Was a cool experience. Chris Mann is his name. Nice guy.

I'm good on Hamilton after seeing the recorded production. Enjoyed it, but I'm good.

Would like to be excited, but this year more then any will come down to March. Done trying to justify good regular season performances in regards to the overall success of the season. Will be a joyless season until the tourney. And it's not fair to this team but that's the bed Cal made

I mean we were literally the best team in the country in February, going to be tough for this team to even look that much better up to that point in the season, so ya it is going to be tough to get too excited. For the first time in a while though we do have guys on the team that experienced that and are hopefully pissed about it and want a redemption story. We’ve seen it countless times in sports.

Solo round of golf with earbuds is a very underrated experience. A year ago I’d have refused to play alone, now I might prefer it.

other underrated solo experiences; matinee movie, posting up at the bar for dinner alone at a very busy restaurant, watching an important game, long drives

I do like the fact when buying movie Tix is you can choose your seat, if there's more then 5 people in the theater anymore I won't go. Prefer it to be empty.

If watching that video of a bunch of 3 point shots makes you excited this should be an epic year for redass.

Them boys will not be that loose in a game all season.

But I’m still excited because I expect us to be a really good top 5-8 team in the country capable of a deep run in March.

You can have a conservative/realest approach and still be excited.

I'm trying to figure out the new guys' numbers. I'm pretty sure this is right:

3. Thiero
12. Reeves
22. Wallace
24. Livingston

Reeves looks different in that clip than he does in youtube clips and photos but he wore 12 at Illinois State so I figure that's him.

* I'm tired of being pissed off at Cal. F*** it -- I'm all in on optimism. It is getting ready to be Summer Solstice. I'm going to enjoy the sunshine while it is here. Winter is always coming and so is a recession. Why be miserable now? I'm going to do my best to totally ignore Cal and just enjoy the ride.

(Someone please post this in February when I'm bitching about a loss to Ole Miss on a Tuesday at 9 pm where Cal makes bitchy comments to the fans so I can be reminded that I am, in fact, an idiot.)

* After Oscar, Fredrick might low key be the most important player on this squad. If he can play 30 minutes a game with a variety of lineups, it should allow us to keep enough shooting on the floor for the other guys to flourish. Reeves was a 39% three point shooter last year at ISU but his first shot in his youtube highlight clip is him banking in a three from the top of the key, so I'm irrationally skeptical.

* There's a billion chance percent that at some point Wheeler is going to knuckleball a few threes and I'm going to start screaming WHERE'S WALLACE, STRING? WHERE'S WALLACE?!?!?! like I'm bitchass D'Angelo Barksdale.

Took my sons to the Cal Father-Son Camp last weekend for the 3rd time and it was great once again minus my proving to my boys that any ounce of ability I once had had at basketball has long since gone bye bye.

Crowd was significantly smaller than any of the other years I had gone. I can only theorize why, but it was notable.

Didn't see the players do much other than goof around with the kids, but I can sense that Toppin and Ware are important players on that roster in terms of team chemistry.

We had broken up into smaller groups and had a turn to tour Cal's office at the Craft Center (1st time they've let that happen). Cal actually happened to be in the office and ended up talking to us for 30 minutes and asking us for questions. No matter how pissed I get at the guy, he does have an amazing ability to engage a crowd in that setting. He talked about a bunch of stuff about last season's end, but nothing new. He did say that Cason Wallace is better than he expected and that Reeves should make a instant impact. He talked about CJ being maybe the best shooter in college basketball, but you can tell he still is worried about keeping him healthy.

This team will be enjoyable to watch next season. There is no reason they shouldn't be considering who they have returning and have added. I'm far more worried about our ****** injury luck than I am about having actual holes in our roster for next season. The bad thing is that we will worry about them backing it up in the post season the entire year.

3 full years of college:

5.5 points
3.6 rebounds
0.8 assists

Jacob Toppin has to be the highest upsided player ever to put up those stats.
I know you're being facetious but I agree(not ever).

He's ben playing off the bench, not getting any type of consistent minutes, showed flashes including at #1 Auburn last year. Doesn't lack confidence, that's for sure. Obviously, his brother is a freak. It's in there. I think he can be really f*cking good.

They say that crime don’t pay, but neither does farming these days.

- Cannabis farming does. 90-150k to manage a commercial grow - just wait until more states legalize, the demand for someone with the experience and know-how is going to explode.

Or at least that’s what I’m banking on…

I think he should have gotten a lot of Brooks’ minutes tbh. I just felt like we were better when he was on the floor, numbers be damned.
